Pretty sure the MN would be the same as the ML.

Baro sensor is on the front of the panel beside the radiator.

Not sure if the ECU reads the baro or not, perhaps Tony or someone who knows can enlighten.

The ML Petrol ECU does not read the Baro, instead relies on MAF and MAP sensors....

Woops, it appears the two sensors are indeed temperature, one for A/C and one for the RV meter(outside temp)

The ML at least does not appear to have any Baro sensor :?

Petrol relies on MAF, diesel relies on MAP

There was some info on air pressures by a guy in South Africa, wait I will search.

Cheers mate mines diesel but.
I would love to get a service manual and have a look.

my brain doesn't switch off unfortunately.

I think the maf would compare with the map sensor

air volume to given psi = fuel delivery
what im hoping for is a barometric offset in fuel delivery
Via a sensor.

If so U could trick it and create a economy mode via a switch

Just searched through the fault codes and found this.

P2228 Barometric pressure sensor circuit low input ON

P2229 Barometric pressure sensor circuit high input ON

Further searches have found the Barometric Pressure sensor is used in the fuel pressure circuit, Throttle valve opening control and fuel injection control.

Hi guys

I'm having issues in my ml

If I start the truck at sea level and drive To altitude it's reading negative boost

If I start the truck at altitude and drive to sea level it's over boosting

Is there a sensor ?

Map sensor has been changed

Any help would be appreciated... getting desperate to fix this issue

Cheers

Boost not regulating at altitude

Postby Trainer4wd on Mon Sep 04, 2017 3:58 pm

Hi guys

I have got an ongoing issue with my ML 3.2 ltr triton 2007

It has a DOM 1 chip installed

The issue I have is when I travel to an altitude greater than 700mtrs above sea water I get an overboost

So if I start my truck at my home my scan guage reads 0 psi at idol and the chip tricks the ecu that the maximum is 16.6psi even though I run 20psi

If I travel to an altitude then at idol it reads a positive 1.7 to 2 psi

If I stop the motor and restart it at altitude it goes back to 0psi
Then if I drive back home it goes into a negative

Chip tuning say it's not the chip and Mitsubishi say there not sure why it does not regulate

I have changed the MAF and map sensors with no joy

So my question is... what regulates the boost at altitude ?

Yes, you've posted all over the forum about it. Please don't cross post. It doesn't get you any more responses, nor does it improve the speed of response. It does annoy the Moderators who have to clean up your mess.

There is no "altitude compensator". The only time barometric pressure is used is in the dash display and there's a dedicated barometer for that.

However, as you've discovered, there is a reset. Turn off, then restart and the ECU will adjust back to zero.
Chris

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay us to do it?
