secondary diesel filter

Petrol, gas, fuel tanks etc

The fuel line difference is to minimize flow friction to the lift pump. Fuel lift is around 2.5 times more effort than pushing back to the tank(head) so fuel line may be smaller.

Im getting mine done today, plus egr plate , im getting mine done before oem because of reccomendation , basically as it was told to me , the oem will take a lot of water on before the light/alarm will sound, and at that point its too late. Oem is expensive to replace compared to their $40 2 micron! And with theirs having the glass bowl i am actively able to watch how the fuel is going and drain accordingly! Im nervous about getting this done to a brand new vehicle ( 20kms on the clock ) but realise the prevention outweighs the cure!

Seriously? If you're going to this much trouble, then you need to consider that there's far better options out there. You need to do some more reading.

Egr blank plates are now made redundant as there's a far superior electronic option available.

Going 2um before factory filter is just crazy, but better than nothing.

If you are going to fit it as a primary. I would instal a water detection alarm as well.

and that is the whole point of a secondary. The water still has to get past it. The factory alarm is an early warning.

If your alarmed filter is second in line your new primary would theoretically fill with water before you hear about it. If you put the finer filter second it will catch anything and you'll still get the factory alarm as a warning.

As srb has not so tactfully suggested egr blanks have largely been superseded by superior electronic solutions.

Getting a secondary filter put in this week. Getting it installed AFTER OEM filter. my mate had suggested that i get one done when i got the truck a year ago, but i kinda forgot about it. My old man got a new Land-cruiser recently and took it to our family mechanic who immediately installed a secondary filter telling my dad that the diesel in Aus is rubbish and he has repaired far to many engines due to water, than he likes to mention

I trust this mechanics opinion more than anyone so after my dad told me this i finally got it booked in with him to get one installed. Better safe than sorry in my opinion.

Just one item crossed of my EVER GROWING list of money eating modifications

Yeah but this one is more like insurance, protecting the existing asset.

Im so new to diesels and tritons , that I wouldn't know what new electrical thing to look for, that's why I joined the forum, but I guess I'll start the reading process, and hopefully it doesn't take as long to find out as much as it did others... But cheers anyway..

8mm and 10mm from memory, depending on which hose you're playing with. I'd have to go out in the cold to be really sure though.

Ok I balls'd my posts up...

They put my filter in " Pre" OEM ( not post as I stated ) , and I wasn't aware of the SPVi plug n play module..

Now I'm thinking of going back to where I got the work from , and having them readjust it yo " Post " OEM !
As well as removing the EGR BLANK... because my fuel economy went from 8.6 to 9.3 on the dash , and turbo lag seems very noticeable ... Thoughts anyone ?
