I have a weeping sensor on the end of my fuel rail, can this be screwed off and replaced with an aftermarket one. Can this be done by a low experienced person, with some advice. 2006 ML Triton. Thanks John

Q to Tony; is it fair to assume that tank breather is blocked if the filler hisses when opening the cap? Ml diesel.

OK 2nd question, the 'secret' screen on the pump - is this prone to any contamination causing restrictions over a number of years, esp considering that something must be getting through to cause the scoring on the scv plunger?

so what is outcome of this one. Sounds like the fuel lines to injectors not sealing properly and leaking diesel into oil, and mechanic is just trying to make a quick buck.
