Carbon clean H2O the way to go…..

Bring engine to operating temperature.
Need a 500ml spray bottle filled with water.
Remove intake manifold hose.
Rev engine and hold about 700 RPM and spray into manifold
Water steams and burns off all carbon.
Take vehicle for a good drive to blow out crap from exhaust.
Results: Engine runs like a Swiss watch.

 WARNING……………….…………….
If too much water is introduced into the cylinder, it can result in a condition called hydrolock, where the volume of liquid in the engine is to great resulting in extremely high cylinder pressure that may blow heads, shattering of the piston, connecting rods or other damage to the engine. No do not use your F…… garden hose.

Do you have any idea how much carbon is sitting inside some of these manifolds? People are using buckets to collect the gunk they scrape off. While I'm all for cleaning a manifold I would have thought letting the shit go into the engine might be worse than leaving it alone.

   we do this here only a bit less scientific than spray bottle.

Pull hose off windscreen washer and stick a mini garden spray on it. Works beautifully as can add much or little water desired.

Wont do much on badly coked manifolds. More a trick for petrol engines that have detonation problems from carbon deposits.

What about JLM DIESEL AIR INTAKE & EGR CLEANER $60 bucks on ebay once a week

Iv seen mine caves with less carbon on the walls then some of these Triton manifolds.
Blank it or spank it............

Funny thing Germans just invented a surfactant to mix water with diesel. Might see a clean water diesel injection engine in the future.

JLM Diesel Air Intake & EGR Cleaner

Many are of the opinion carbon is better in the bin then burnt in your engine.
There are a number of products like this. Some are less than $60.
Some on NewHilux use products like this every 6 months as a preventative measure.
If your manifold is badly blocked I doubt one can would work, Some companies have a workshop based cleaning system using Pro strength chemicals.

Motatec Threebond Engine Conditioner (Diesel) $20

Might be an option for a new engine maintenance for those who do not want to block the EGR.

Pro strength must be alkaline salts, the hydroxide will eat the crap and also react with the aluminium manifold causing hydrogen gas so it can not stick to the manifold thus getting sucked into the pistons during the combustion process. Problem is the crap just keeps on coming from the Exhaust Gas Recirculation System.

Doe's the EGR operate at idle on the Triton diesel???

Yes, up to 70% depending on temperature etc.

:o

SO flog your engine to keep the EGR closed ummm yerr naaa... not sure about dat

Turbo is doing overtime.... Good Fuel economy takes a dive...

I drive like a granny den give her a flogging to clean out exhaust once a week and twice on Sundays...
Then spray down my manifold with Mr sheen no what I mean don't use Valvoline.

Did mine last week as fuel consumption went up to 11. Now back down to 8-9. To much carbon crap everywhere.
Der  Lets put the exhaust back into the engine and save the environment. Moron probably got a noble prize for it. What about all the extra fuel you have to burn when the engine clogs up.

Found this on Ebay. Cashing in on H20 Cleans.. DIY $3 spray bottle from hardware and tap water just as good. I personally prefer filtered water :)

Revive Engine cleaner power restorer.

I use a steam cleaner to clean my engine internals every service through the inlet manifold. (pulse action) No chance of hydro-locking, or a cracked piston if to much water is added. No chance of removing lubrication of the piston walls. The super heated steam will quickly remove carbon deposits. The engine runs smoothly during treatment due to various factors including a better fuel mix. The Triton I add 2T afterwards.

Have done this to all my vehicles for years with no problems. All have high km and maintain good fuel economy. I always find the engine runs smoother afterwards. Placebo effect or physic. Not much info on the web.
