I took mine to the Mitsubishi dealership in Wangara (DVG Wanneroo Mitsubishi) for the cooling system recall and asked them to check the tune as the fuel consumption seemed a bit heavy. They were also the people I bought the car from.

They reset the computer and so far as I can tell the Triton is running a lot quieter and better for their efforts. I will know more when I have gone through a couple of tanks of fuel.

I would suggest that the people who built the car may be the best ones to fix it.

No l don't but if you give the guys a call at MediCar in Bibra lakes (Pt Kembla Drive) they should be able to advise you of tuners, l went there recently and they seem to know their stuff and specialise in 4WD's. They do not have a dyno tuner themselves but have 3rd party access and will do on request. Hope that is of some help.

Hey mate, you in Piara Waters?

I had mine done by United Fuel Injection in Redcliffe, they did a very mild tune for me (just to pickup the range under 1800 a bit more for towing) and recon there is a lot more in the top end aswell. Have a chat with Glenn in the office or Steve (he drives a ML) in the turbo area, both love chatting tunes and will give you any info or expected outcomes.

Yep, thought I recognised the plates. Sometimes see ya on Mason or Wright Rds.
Back OT, United have a range of tuning options, and are very enthusiastic about their work. Having recently used mine for towing a caravan, can honestly say that the low down response compared to before the tune is absolutely unbelievable. Makes the manual sooo much more driveable than pre-tune, especially getting moving off the mark without the need for massive clutch slip. Although with my triton weighing over 2800kg daily, it needs all the help it can get.

I believe cost will be around $1500, including dyno and tuned to your specifications (may be less, but they seemed to think "around" that price was the go). Mine is tuned for low down response only and cooler egt's, basically from 1200rpm to about 1900rpm, a 25% increase in torque, peak at around 2150 of 499nm, curve follows the std trajectory just bigger gains in the lower rpm. Power stays on stronger from 2000 to 3600, where it would start to flatten out as std from 2800 on. Like I said, for the weight it gets along ok, but in reality probably only puts it back to about as quick as a std empty Triton. The tuner also said much more top end was available, and recons another 15-20% is easily found with an intercooler upgrade. As mine runs, highway egt's have dropped from mid to high 400's to high 300's (was low 500's with a chip), under hard long acceleration sits around 600, std would reach close to 700 before I backed off (chip would max out around 600), around town usually sits between high 200's and mid 300's. Much cooler than std or chipped, and runs 22.5psi boost. Give them a call, worth the chat imho.
