supply pump leaking at flange - 2.5L engine

Postby coughy on Sat Dec 05, 2015 5:26 pm

supply pump leaking??
pls has anyone come across the supply pump leaking from the bottom flange that is mounted to it with 3 allen head bolts???
it apears to be leaking inbetween the pump and flange
the flange has a steel pipe that goes to the top of the pump that has a nother flange up there as well
is there a gasket or a steel shim of some sort in between these items??
i need to fix it tomorrow or im in big s**t with the wife
it looks like i can undo the steel line and then undo the bolts that hold it on there to the front cover then i might be able to twist the pump a little to get the shitty allen bolt on the lower side??

ideas pls and fast
has any one got a pump handy
what would one cost \
grrrr as my warranty run out start of this year

Yeah done a few of them. It can leak and no be any issue. Ie. Ignore. The diesel smell goes away on recirculate.

Vv easy change over Mn, huge job Ml.

It's not common problem. The denso pumps do fail and used across most of the brands. Are you running a chip?

I think tritonwreckers have pumps. Pm them.

It theoretically adds stress to the pump. Geek has a 3.2 so different in some ways but from memory has done at least 2.

My limited understanding is that those three bolts are holding down the head and high pressure side of the pump.

Of course it should be serviceable, but you will have to get via denso and know what you asking for.

The first one I blew was directly related to me pushing the boundaries of sending fuel to the rail. Think very huge plumes of smoke, massive temps, and not being particularly careful about it.. Ie I have the tuning software.
The second pump just failed. Stopped. tilt tray.
Third one is pissing diesel out of it and keeps on chugging along. It's been like that for... Ahhh years

You change the pump it will run but you should get injection pump learn done. Is mits thing unless you know someone with a generic mut3.

There is a variation in pumps. The scv makes that easier to tell.. I will say the 2.5 pump is vastly different to 3.2.

Did I answer everything?

Supercheap does an aftermarket MAF sensor now. Online or special order only I think but check their site.
