Pedal issues...

What were your warranty claims and recall information

Poor little blue!!! Most parts that "wear" as part of their service are not generally covered by warranty. This normally includes tyres, clutch, brake pads, fan belts, windscreen wipers and other various items. To me pedals fall heavily into this group, therefore your winging is quite annoying.

To each their own, I've never seen this level of wear on any previous vehicle... I still have the leather momo steering wheel out of my fairmont ghia esp, it's got over half a million km on it and shows minimal wear, it's 20 years old...!!! My MK triton interior, now 9yo is holding up far better...

My pedal car used to have shiny pedals.

More seriously though, shiny bits and pieces are ultimately there to suck the customer into hnading over more cash for virttually no extra production costs.

My gripe is how easy it is to leave scratch marks in any of the plastic trim. Just knock up against door panels, etc while loading or unloading anything and there's a new mark. Krapiest trim quality out of all the vehicles I've had.

Hey there fridgie, the glass is still full, my ute has just had a very hard life and now after 130000 k its ready for the cemetery! Dont expect to much out of any of my vehicles, they are used as tools and they wear out!

Do you take even a little bit of pride in your cars? Maybe with the right treatment they might be a little better... It doesn't take much... Just my thought!

I do alot of city driving and I suspect thats why my pedals, knob are worn... I do try and keep them clean and tidy, but it is hard when you are continually changing gears on the Ipswich Motorway every morning for an hour... I was hoping that I would get a little bit more out of them before they started falling apart...

Pride has nothing to do with it, all the modern dual cabs are to small and flimsy for what we are doing to them but the next problem is that a suitable vehicle is 5 times the price and 2.5 times the size. It just easier to throw away small jap dual cabs than drive something like an f 250.

This is a bit of a bump.
But when did people notice that their leather gear knob and steering wheel started to wear.
I have had my triton for 12,000km (bought brand new) and my gear knob looks worse than my old 1993 Nissan maxima did.
I take care of my car big time. I have wear on both the steering wheel and gear knob. The damage is worse than i have seen on pleather which really annoys me.
Did i get bad leather?
Ive never seen leather wear that fast.

Mine has ever so slightly started to show signs of wear on the gear selector.
Nothing unusual about the steering wheel other than dirt

Just over 5.5yrs and almost 90k.

Ill post some pics when i get a chance to. But it is as though the leather is flaking away like vinyl would on the gear knob and where the leather is stitched on the steering wheel it is almost worn all the way through.
Very frustrating because every time i got to the stealer they just pin it on me abusing it.
I decided against leather interior for this reason just didnt know it would happen so fast.

The initial wear started at about 4000km and now is getting to the point where the numbers on the gear knob are almost worn off.

Same here. 5 years 146k now :o
My pedals are perfect (except for the gum that got stuck on the clutch the other week)
Seems the later MLs and MNs aren't as good quality as our early models...

This is what my gear knob looks like
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/37883936/IMG_1016.JPG

and the damage on the steering wheel. This is on 3 of the the 4 stitched sections
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/37883936/IMG_1017.JPG

And that damage has been done in 10 months and only 12,000km.
Is that normal wear?

Can't see the numbers on the gear knob and the steering wheel is smooth but only where I always hold it, have had to stitch up the wheel as the stitching split, 222,000ks and over 5 yrs......
Or as Speedy Gonzalez once said, it won't hurt, did it

I spoke to the service department about the issue. The guy that served me was a complete d*** to me and tried to palm me off   but i insisted on speaking to someone so that a note can be made about the problem.
I had the shop manager look at it and he tried to pin it on me. But after a long discussion and his realisation that the car had only been driven for 12,000km he took some pics and explained that it will be up to Mitsubishi to determine whether or not it will be covered but believed that it should considering the condition of my interior and the extremely short period in which it had deteriorated. :) :)
So all in all I believe it was a success. Lets hope Mitsubishi jump on board with me. :?
