Paint/Rust - Headboard

Hey guys,

I thought it would be worth while mentioning for people that have purchased a new triton recently.

My brother and I purchased new tritons this year (myself in Feb/March) He in early May.

I purchased some gear off a guy the other day who also recently bought a new Triton, who had it sent back to Mitsubishi due to rust forming on the welds on the headboard of the tub as well as forming on the rear window.

I took a look at both my brothers and my Tritons and found that we both had rust forming in the welds on the heardboard.

Old mate said that he had Mitsubishi respray his vehicle under warranty.

This is on white so far.

Has anyone else had this issue or had it repaired under warranty?

I have the issue, and Mitsu have approved the repair. Just waiting on a date for the paint shop to fit me in.

i have the same issue. took it to the dealer and they "didnt have time" to look at it during the service.

was there on day 1 (didnt notice on pickup. stupid. was in rush)

I have it on the welds on the head board, was there from new.

Apart from looking like it was painted outside on a windy day the rest of the cab isn't too bad, a little thin in places.

I thought this was just "character" and part of owning a Mitsubishi

Also have it on the welds from the headboard, but as I am going to install a canopy going to give it a good touch up when headboard gets cut off.

I had it on the glx metal headboard where it meets the tub rail and on the flip up things on top of the ladder rack, reported at first service and they said it was common. I have since cut it off to fit a hard cover but at least it is on file if I have any other issues.
