What were your warranty claims and recall information

Just spoke to my stealer.

Was told:
-The upgrade has been released and then recalled because MM want to add more to it.
-They have been told to expect it around christmas this year.

Grrrrrrrr. I'm not going to bitch my stealer. They're OK. MM, however, are f@cken useless.

Yeah - my dealer just said the same this morning. MN going in for a combination of it's 1500km and it's 7500km together and they don't have the ECU upgrade.

Wonder what the problem is causing them to keep delaying the release?

Better to get it right though than release and then re-release. Like that graph on using Adobe software (25% of time doing adobe stuff, 75% of time upgrading adobe stuff!!!)

True that Fnordy.
Patience is not one of my strengths but I'd rather they got it right than deal with the disappointment of an upgrade that either doesn't work or causes other problems.

Hmmpffff!!!!!

Well - after Burnah's resounding recommendation I booked my MN GLX-R in for the ECU upgrade which they said would be a couple of hours. I took the dog Missus' dog so he could get a good walk home (about 5km so 30 mins maybe?)

Phonecall as I am walking in the front door saying the major ECU upgrade was only for Auto's and manual ECU program to be released before Christmas.

Christmas may have come early for you Burnah, but looks like I actually have to wait for Christmas

I took it back to factory tune, so will need to get the new post fuel pump tune e-mailed out!

All good things come to those who wait

Any idea, what is the purpose of the "manual" update?

Is it just another windows security update

Got mine in on Friday for 7500km oil change, and diagnostic. Plus two warranty issues. Have spoke to them about re-flash availability, but they just said. "we shall see what you need!".

Will report in over weekend

i have an intermittent hesitation between 1400and 1800rpm at very light throttle modulation, feels like a single ignition cut.

dealer has told me that the above mentioned fix is for auto only, and that my ecu would have any upgrade automatically loaded into it.

it drives nice for about 1 day after going to dealer (they perform SQL learn) and then power drops off and hesitation returns.

ive done 4000k's and consumption is around 9.3l/100.

My 07 ML steering has just started playing up, have noticed when im going over 60km my power steering stiffens up when trying to change direction and you really have to force it when it stiffens. I have seen that a few have had this problem in 1st and 2nd gear but not in fourth and fith. Anyone know if there has been any hotline fixes or recalls for this issue?

cheers

A hotline fix is a warranty repair, not quite a recall, but should a customer complain of certain symptoms then the fix is applied ie: squeak in rear springs gets silencer kit, knock in steering column gets column replaced. Etc.
I'm not so good with the advice  ... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment???

Not entirely wrong though Norto, in that there will undoubtedly be some hotline fixes that are reflashes of the ECU, just not all of them.

So as I am the second owner of my 2007 ML Triton, (out of warranty) I will have to pay to have the hotline fixes done???????

Suspension Hotline Fix:

Apparently there has been a new "improved" silencer kit for the rear suspension on the MN. The hotline fix number is MN34-001

If anyone else out there has been having problems.

Guys, this is probably a stupid question, but just so I know before I ring the stealers....

Are Hotline fixes covered under warranty? Rear suspension is starting to make some "groaning" sounds which might turn into the "squeek" I've seen some guys rant about here...

Hotline fixes are covered under warranty, so long as you describe the symptoms of that fix. If you simply quote the fix number and tell them to make it happen, they won't look too kindly on it and say "we couldn't replicate it so we didn't fix anything"

Cheers fraz91. Just trying to figure out how the service departments work here in Oz. Back home, they'd try and charge you for everything and anything, even if they f*%ked up.

Well, that's just good business practice i guess...
