That much for a regas

At max $40-50 for gas (retail price) and 15min labour so let's say $20-30, total $60-80....

This thread reminds me to check mine....good thing I have all the gear and a bottle of refrigerant sitting at home ;)
I'm not so good with the advice  ... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment???

May be time to add a couple of 90kg bottles to that stash mate...will be on a winner when it goes up by more than $100/kg (that's $100 per kg more than the $30 it costs now - wholesale ) with the carbon tax ;)

Thinking of doing the same with a couple of old receivers I have here :)

Here's a look at the new cost of refrigerants you may be paying for if the Triton leaks....
Incidentally these didn't form part of the carbon tax assessments that the govt used to "assume" or "sell" to the public that there would be minimal increases in cost of living due to this new tax - there are many of these hidden gems awaiting us

Make sure your AC is working now peoples because if it isn't under warranty

To give you an idea you have around 2+kg's of gas in your 3hp domestic split air con. Your retail price per kg of gas is probably around $40 now

Below are the tax rates (to the wholesaler) that will be added to that price - along with an environmental levy etc.

R134 is most common car AC gas
R404 is most common commercial fridge gas (some systems have 2 tonnes)
R410 is most common new home AC gas.

Just look at the bottom table for the tax about to be levied on each of them - per KG
