Presently there is no non-genuine oil filter available.
If there was I doubt I would use it. Cut a genuine in half and see for yourself.

Valvoline make one but is costs around $40-00, genuine Mit filter $37-00 so why risk it.

Inclined to agree with Diamond & Scuba, basically why give Mitsubishi any excuses to void warranty, by not using genuine parts, especially if price difference is small, Be different story if an after market product was proven superior and engaged a full warranty against down stream damage to your vehicle due to its use.

I rang Mitsi to enquire about the heavy duty bash plate (incl giving the number below) and not one of three (yup, count 'em THREE) had any idea about the plate :o . One guy said it was Protector Package (D/lock) which he thought was expensive for door locks protectors! The last guy I spoke to said that the plates were standard not heavy duty .."They are whatever is shipped as standard". When I asked him if he knew if they were better/heavier than a previous release he had NO idea. Long story short - look like I'll get TJM for $373 fitted! :D

yogi, tjm plates are or were 6 months ago $120/$130 for front/rear, my suggestion is to tell them you will fit yourself (rear plate takes about 5 mins) & then when the front doesn't fit (which it won't) take it back and get them to fit it for free (if the front plate does fit it will also only take 5 mins) all up it's 7 or 8 bolts. One thing I did when I fitted mine was go and get some high tensile bolts to replace the standard ones, cost about $15 or $20 with new spring washers.

Yeah what Tri said on the high tensile bolts. I snapped one off.. It is very easy to do. Although luckily only cost a small amount to rectify.

I'm due 30K now. Why Autoleaders Quinny?

Had good dealings with them?

I bought a genuine fuel filter today at Melville Mitsubishi $80.10
Their price for genuine air filter $69.92, oil filter $59.44

I guess we are paying the price to keep the car under Mitsubishi warranty, I have never bothered to read any fine print on non genuine filters etc I bet they wont provide warranties against damage caused by failure of one of their filters.
