You should be fine to do the intermittent oil filter change and oil flush yourself, but I'd still be taking it back to the dealer every 30,000km so they can do the tappets and fuel filter.

truthfully i would rather do all the oil/filter changes my self, if my motor blows up, the stealers are only going to say its my own fualt anyway.

you just answered your own question YES for warranty sakes

but mate we r all over the stealers but what do you do :?

My 2.5 DiD has just had it's 45K done at a dealer in Mandurah WA, not naming them of course.

Capped price service came to $590 of which $239 was parts and $297 labour.

I had complained of surging and a noisy driver door window winder. Car is still surging and winder still noisy.

According to my 'in car camera' (which I forgot was there until later) the car had 3 test drives, 40 minutes in the service bay and 20 minutes in the wash bay.

Going by the service book the 45K service consists of the A and C service with the A being Oil and Filter change & look to see if anything is falling off and the C being replace coolant. The coolant was not changed nor coolant charged for.

On the Parts List there is charges of (among other things)......
$64 for 6.4L of 15W-40 Delvac (presumably engine oil) and
$32.43 for P/n AW351667 Oil,Engine,Diesel-5L Container (wtf is this?)

Overall I feel $590 is a rip-off for 40 minutes time servicing, test drives and wash.

What do others think?

Cheers Neil

Just got mine back from Darwin Mitsu, they did the 45k service....590 bucks ;)
gesss thats not to bad considering whats been done, and i didn't
supply anything' no filter's or oil.....they even pick up that the seat belt
recoil spring was busted and orded the parts for it under warranty 8-)

Just wish they could at least put some sort of soapy water in the
window washer bottle and not just tap water  damn i could do that myself
would have saved a whopping $1.62 :?
Overall :D

Just had my 40/45000k service done and only audible valve check and no drivetrain fluids done - only inspected WTF? Guess i'll be searching the threads on best oils to use and do it myself. capped price servicing for ya i guess.

I thought 45k was one with the fluids being changed? I'm pretty sure I did both diffs and the transfer but not the transmission as I'd done that at 30k for other reasons. Also changed out the coolant FWIW. If the book calls for them to be changed I'd be insisting on it under the capped price. They can't cheat like that surely? Or is the capped price labour only and not consumables? Surely not?

morgs n jess
valve clearances done every 30000k should be full fluid change at 45000 diffs,transfer,gearbox/auto,brake fluid, coolant, oil and filter change
would not be happy if they only inspected
if they changed the coolant just watch the overflow bottle over the next day or so mine was all good when i got home about 7kms from the dealer the next day after getting home after work checked every think for leaks ect no coolant in the overflow and about 10mm down in radiator as well took it back wtf?

Take it back and call MMAL. Capped price is just that the service is done for the capped price.

Just a note, the MY11 Triton changed the service Schedule so no fluids done at the 45 service,
Only oil and filter, some of them have long life coolant so that wouldnt be replaced either,

Did the 45K service (was 5'000 over) just prior to XMAS at a Mitsu Dealer (Brisbane). $960 incl 5 x wheel rotation + balance. Told them the ute felt sluggish. Picked it up that afternoon & it's the best the ute has run since I bought it. Super happy with the service. Ute is 10x different from the last service.

Was working less than 15k's from home for almost 2 years Homer so the mileage hasn't added up. Apart from the battery & saggy front end the Ute is great. :-)

I lurk Fridgie. :P

45k service on MY10.....

Just quoted $940 odd including coolant, engine, gearbox, diffs and transfer case oils, wheel align and rotate and engine belts at a local mechanic.

Quoted $529 to replace front pads, rotors (with Brembo) and brake fluid.

Looks like its been a while since anyone has had the 45k service done. It seams there was a lot of variance in the cost. Mine is about due and is covered under capped price service but what exactly is the price capped at? Should i expect it to be cheaper as the coolant has already been changed under the recall?

Try calling the Dealer you're taking it too.......im pretty sure they would know, & ask them about the replacement of coolant.
