Thats a reasonable price from a dealer Finch, good to hear actually...

Where did you buy your filters and oils from DiD?

Filters came from cummins at hexham and oils from super cheap auto

I wouldn't go to Midas again. I had one of my old cars serviced at a Midas, they didn't put the radiator cap back on....... 6 engines later I decided it would be best to get rid of the car.

well after sourcing a genuine oil filter, tranny fluid and coolant i paid about $380 for my 45,000k service.

there was no air filter (Uni filter) or brake fluid (did it with braids a little while ago). Parts cost me about $100.

Mits wanted $950 including all liquids although they charge me extra for air filter. So i may have got $100 off without brake flush.

So i roughly saved half. can't be unhappy with that. All major components are OEM so no warranty issues.

Capped price servicing hasn't always been around ;)

Some of us don't do the k's others do so takes us longer to get to the service

I have never used the dealer as frankly they use apprentices & charge 3 times the amount, I get my local mechanic to do all of our servicing at hugely discounted rates using genuine parts. I did have a run in with the dealer when I was making a warranty claim & the service guy told me that I would not be covered as I did not use an authorise dealer, I then asked to speak to the Principal of the dealership & ran over the High court case of 5 years ago where it was deemed that any delaer stating that you loose warranty by using someone else was fined by fair trading & they would love to prosecute a few more dealers telling straight out LIES, the warranty work was then covered again, very strange. The poor kid at the front counter was obviously just saying what he had been told. :?

So for warranty sakes is it really worth paying 600 odd bucks. i am a bit over the stealers, i seem to only have bad luck with them.
truthfully i would rather do all the oil/filter changes my self, if my motor blows up, the stealers are only going to say its my own fualt anyway.

Tell them where to go. But for warranty sakes, Warranty always ncomes to bite the consumer on the but and we wend up opening our pockets anyway.
