Air filter

Postby Zav78 on Sat Nov 02, 2013 5:36 pm

I have just put 4000km's on my new 2013 triton on a drive down to Adelaide I thought I would check the air filter as it was a dusty drive and there was oil in the box. Not much but a small puddle the size of a 10 cent piece.
Is this normal or do I have a problem?

Possibly. There should not be oil in the air filter box.

No sign of where it came from? No oil stain on the filter or any evidence of tracking?

Presume you have a paper filter, not the oiled sponge type.

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay us to do it?

I can't see where it came from at all although there looks to be some sprayed here and there but can't pin point location. Yes it's a paper filter. Better take it in.
