Bought my Triton from there in November 2010, rang 2 weeks later to book in for the 1500k check and was told it couldnt happen till January 2011.
I never went back. Things may have changed over the years but people dont forget.
I now go to Kia, many thanks to Lee and the guys for looking after me over the years (and the coming years) Ill be in soon for the 90000 and timing belt and brakes and........................................
Its also worth noting that Lee's guys have installed most of my extras, spotties, trailer brake control and tires etc
Good service is hard to find so when you do find it you stick with it.
Cheers

Just picked my car up from it's 80k service. Went to KFC an realised the engine light hadn't turned off, so I took it back and within 10 minutes was back with no light. Bit suspicious as to why it was so quick. I've heard of places disconnecting wires so warning lights don't come up. I'm probably being a bit paranoid but is there anything I can check to make sure the didn't disconnect anything just to get me out the door?

Nah man I asked them and they said: "Ran it on the computer, turned it off and on and it was gone". That's why I'm a bit worried :?

What did they do at the 80k service? Did it have anything other than oil change such as valves>?

Not the first time something would have been forgotten to plug in, if more work had been done,

Ha ha, I just get normal grease and oil changes. Change fuel filters and dust filters etc and never had the valves adjusted. Everyone who looks at it and listens to motor says its running like a clock, why touch it? It now has 120,000klms on it and no major services other than that 60000 one where they did bugger all anyway. ;)

I think it was just a general oil change and all that jazz, the big one is the 90k service with the new belt. Which leads me to my next question...
What sounds like the right price for that? I got quoted $1800 for a timing belt "kit" or $1300 for just the timing belt.

Our cost for timing and balance belt replacement is $580 for parts and labour, and INC gst.
THats just the 2 belts being replaced though.
I generally only do kits on the 2nd change of the belts, so at 200000km,

Belt is due at 5 years or 100000km, whichever comes first,

Why are dealers so expensive?

Considering i rang a local random shop last week to price the same thing, they wanted $850 and the car for 2 days, This was a major franchise aftermarket repairer.

And considering we only use genuine parts here for the $580, its not expensive, always compare apples and apples.

Might be a bit further for you but you'd be happy with Lee's servicing.

Book says 100000km or 5 years old, whichever comes first, always use that as your gauge as to when you replace them.

PMed you Jacobie,

Guys has anyone used Ultimate Diesel Tuning?

I drove past their triton this morning, they have a shop in Geebung on the north side. Apparently they do tune ups and ecu/dyno work so i have asked them a quote for a tune up and remap the ECU to make it more responsive.

Just waiting to hear back from them now
