Wa guys, every one works in the mines and earn shit loads over here. i wish
not happy about the price but the service you get is spot on, the car has been seen by two other dealers in the past and left with same problems it went in with or worse.one had it for just under four weeks in and out taken back on a tilt tray twice. this dealer did the 45000 might be the most expensive on here as well and now the 60000 the car is spot on, every think you ask them seems to get sorted.
i own a small business and the lost time with the other dealers was a joke and they dont give a rats
mainly posted the price because the guys with fixed price service are on a good deal realy

Which dealer did you use Nathan? Did you have to say anything in particular to get the new manifold? I have the same thing to do with mine in the next few weeks.

re: 60k service.

After shopping around for the best 60K service in Brisbane, I am heading to Tweed Heads for the day I think. Atleast $300 bucks cheaper over the boarder in QLD.

$865 from Tweed was the quoted price. Although Marooka have come back this afternoon with a $965 so they might get my business due to distance.

Mine was up there. But I supplied oil and filters. They have to adjust the valve clearances so it's not a small job. Not too much required in terms of fluid changes or anything though.

my fault for not checking back on to see replies (didn't get Lee-thal's PM until after my service was done).

Ended up $865 for the 60K with the 5 wheel rotation + Balance.

That excluded the fuel filter which I replaced myself last month.

Moorooka are the cheapest I have found in Brisbane with Zupps Mt Gravatt being the most expensive.

Why are people concerned about the price for the 60K service. What happened to capped price servicing, or are you outside of the 4 year limit?

I just had my 09 glx r 60k service at mackay dealer and it was $590. I did mention to the lady at the desk about carbon build up in the manifold an if they could check an clean if required for me, that would be extra if they had to and she would ring first. Great news I went to pick it up and asked about the cleaning an she said it was one of the older manifolds and they changed it out under warranty for me.
Service included
Check & adjust valves
Eng oil & filer
Fuel filter
Brake fluid change
Think that was it

Well 60k Service done with my mechanic (I ran screaminn from the stealer at his pricing).. $430 full service, including looking at manifold and to my surprise I watched him hoist the truck and search for grease nipples, remove the factory coating and use them for the first time on the drive line....(very happy with my mechanic) :D :D

Filters ALL, fluids ALL test an replace as needed , engine oil replace, rotate tyres, open n check drums, check rotors, remove and check manifold, road test for diag comp, drive line check grease, suspension check, retrieve torch from top of bash plate and wipe off oil from filter removal :D (damn i like that torch, i thought i had scored it) i think that was it...and whatever else was in book service....even lubricated door hinges..

Apparently the valve service is just plug computer in check valve pressures if any are out adjust shims to adjust pressures and job done, my mechanic reckons its rare to see any variance in injector pressures at 60k so hes not sure why the excessive charges at the stealer he thinks its a just in case charge. any mech type guys out there want to comment...the whole BS about adjusting valve clearance is doin me head in too many differing opinions.

Mojo.. :) :)

Can't say I've ever heard of the valve thing being something you check on the computer.

Obviously mits request the valve clearance being done for a reason, whether they need it or not

For the sake of issues down the track being related to these I've always had them done, imagine the cost otherwise :o

The injectors are not serviceable and the valve adjustment is not done by the computer. Valve adjustment is on the exhaust and inlet valves which requires re shimming.

Definitely not something done on the computer. Pretty involved and requires removal of the rocker cover.

If he is saying its a computer check, he don't know what he's doing.

Is that really somewhere you want to trust your engine with.

Not sure of your warranty situation, but if they are not done and something goes wrong internally on the donk, you will be up the creek without a paddle.

They will want proof they have been checked, ie receipts for the replacement gaskets etc.
