Service intervals here are every 15,000km. Like Buzzy, I reckoned that was too long on a new engine, so got oil & filter done @ 1500km first service. Were done again at 12,000km.
Tip # 1 - Avoid stress & grief & low resale values with vehicles - do it once - do it right, buy a HILUX!!

I'm using Valvoline Super Diesel 15W-40. I change my own oil and filter every 7500km, I get a mate to sign the book. Mitsubishi get to rob me for the 15000km intervals.

No to synthetics here.
My petrol 2.4 ltr is running the Mits Green tinted oil 15w/50w Castrol. I have heard it called "Protec" by more than one person at Mits dealer here... but i cannot find said oil anywhere else. So for $36 i will keep buying 5 lts Mits Oil and Oil Filter. Looks like a good price to me.

FWIW my mech spoke to w'gong mits and they openly told him they buy 10w30 in bulk and use it on all of their vehicles :x

I do my own oil changes now and major services where done at albion park mits but I'm sick of making the trip and they only look after me on price not service so I'll have my mech do them and just use the stealer for warranty.

I just did my 52.5K change and this time I used penrite 15W30
Can't remember the exact name but it came in a 10L drum for about $70, matched the specs required etc.
Prior to this I've used MItsu's brand from the local stealer but found this to be too thin after about 1000K's she clacks like its got no oil n it.
This penrites a bit heavier so I'll see how this goes.

I bought 6 of them yesterday for $33.50 each. The dealer knocked $18 of each for buying in bulk. ;) 8-)

I am using the new Syn Penrite 0-40 full synthetic & full synthetic everywhere else. Costs a bit though.
For anyone who is interested I have also installed DBA 4000 series disks as I do a lot of towing.
Bought them from Repco for $640-00.
