the dealer where i live quoted $500 for the 75k service. got it done at a workshop for $300.
$180 is pretty cheap, what is an oil filter worth for the DiD?

Had my 75000km service at the dealer today, $336 with a couple of extra requests. Filter was $42.72 on the bill.

I gave my 75K account the once over last night and discovered that I had even been charged for the sump plug crush washer. Only a couple of bucks but the point is I have the fumoto oil drain installed. It has the nipple with a right angle elbow attatched with a small clear rubber drain hose which goes to the side of the crossmember, also a backup in hose tap just in case the rocket scientists (myself included) forget to shut the valve tap.
I explained this to them when I delivered the vehicle and they obviously still had no idea what they were looking at. The clear drain hose is clean as a whistle so they must have removed the whole valve to get the oil out (WTF). The original washer is still intact and in place. They commented on my provent setup too and asked me all about the install, piping etc. Got the impression that they liked what they saw and may start recommending them to other customers.
I can`t complain about the service from them though, they have been pretty good with my vehicle and minor issues.

Ok, am I the most expensive?????
$420 at Klosters Newcastle.

I repeated to the guy about 10 times, "dont you dare touch the ECU", If you do, you are paying me and my rate is higher than your rate. 5 hours labour to drive to Sydney and back at $180 per hour is what the charge would be....    , I laughed, they never went near the ECU.

Wowo this must be the only service where the petrol is dearer, due to replace the timing belt.

Comparable with yours Daryn.

I am not taking mine to Mitsubishi again unless last resort for warranty work..... My experience they don't do a good enough job and tell lies........

12 months on and its still $420 at klosters. Would have been cheaper to go somewhere else, but never had a bad service on either car from them :D

Service manager even passed comment and said when it was test driven the guy thought it was running like crap for a chipped vehicle, he then chuckled when i told him i'd pulled the fuse so it was operating. Said he'd have to pass that onto the guy

And that included new wiper blades too Quinny!! and we repaired the seized rear brake mechanism as well, and realigned the rear springs to make them quiet.

Sorry had to add a little more info! LOL

I have 11K to go before I reach 75K. I have been happy with Klosters on the two occasions they have performed warranty work on my car (2 x steering column). I have never serviced nor purchased a vehicle from them and yet their customer service was A+, never an issue with anything.....

Do you blokes do the interval oil changes using gen filters, if so how much and where?

done today as 60mth service
$300 & I supplied oil & filter
lots of inspecting & checking done by the report.

did get a hand brake adjustment & a wash/vac though

also had balance/rotate done & a loan car (which they now charge $20 for)

total $366.95

includes $9.95 for workshop supplies...whatever that was for :? :?

Wel Snoozy,

There you go. Wollongong Mitsu charge me $415 and rang up wanting to know if I wanted my wipers changer, some kind of air-con treatment which would have made a nice smell through the vehicle, and some kind of injector clean which would have pushed price up to $680. I said no thanks.

Mind you, since getting it back a Friday week ago (I had it service Fri 11/07) the vehicle is now missing at times when accelerating or cruising...

Hmmm.

Was going to take to another mechanic down here before ringing them up and asking "please explain".

Cheers

Graham

Now excuse my ignorance here, ive had my triton for a few years from new and always got it serviced at the stealer. Becoming increasingly annoyed by there poor service and inflated prices, Can we take servicing elsewhere aslong as its a log book service? and it wont affect warranty?

Yes, but ensure that only genuine parts are used and the log book is followed, IE valve clearances ETC

And make sure they literally tick the boxes in the book, put a stamp on the page and keep your copy of the invoice - better safe than sorry.
