My MN Triton is overdue for it's 45,000 k service. By overdue, I mean in time only it has been 14 months since the 30,000k service but I have only done 39,000 k. Obviously I don't use my rig that much. So I ring my friendly local dealer and they tell me that since I am more than 1 month over the 12 month period (despite the low klms), the capped service fee will no longer apply. Instead of costing the normal capped fee of $590, it will now cost me $950 for the same service.

Now that's a sure way to gain customer satisfaction!

Bear in mind that I purchased the vehicle from these guys new and I have paid for them to do all services to date.

So I ring another local (Townsville) company who claim to do warranty services for all vehicles at a lower fee than the distributors. They ask me what vehicle and what service is required, pull it up on a computer, and the explain to me exactly what they will be doing. I tell them I insist on genuine Mitsubishi parts to maintain my warranty and the assure me they can do this. For the 40,000 k service including genuine Mitsubishi parts, the quote was $350.

You can guess where I'm going for my future services.

Err sounds like you should be in the rant thread rather than the best dealer thread?

Cold start Troubleshooting

Postby littlebambinos2 on Fri Jun 27, 2014 7:49 am

Hi everyone its deb here. I got my other half to take a short video to demonstrate the problem we have every morning with our vehicle, We have taken it to our local dealer, but it does not seem to do what happens here at home for some reason. Dean also wants to add that he didn't know the air-con was on, so you will hear it click off and back on from 2.02m to 2.06m. The real problem starts at 2.44m to 2.54m and you can not only hear it but you can also see the engine jerking and shuttering. We have tried searching the forum for a while but cant seem to find anything. It didn't happen on this start up, but sometimes there is a cloud of grey to white smoke coming out the exhaust. Any help would be greatly appreciated because its got us baffled.

Many Thanks Deb.

Does this happen if you don't let it idle in the driveway and just start it up and drive??

There is no codes or CEL at all after this happens??

It looks to me like a fuel issue.... maybe related with the ECU as it is getting up to temp??
But hopefully one of the other guys with a bit more technical knowledge can help.

// Great idea chucking up a video of the problem ;)
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything important, it's too late to stop reading it.

He is a Brisbane based dealer and i am sure he can help.
This car is like a bad drug habit. It is taking all my money and time, my family are concerned, but new mods just feel sooooooo good.

That sounds/looks interesting,

Send me an email if you like and we can see if we can get the car in for a cold start,

I have a couple of ideas but would need to be plugged into the car and grab some data from it to determine exactly what it is. should be easy to replicate looking at the way it happens.

Thanks so much for all the replys everyone" We have just booked the car in with Lee at Eagers Mitsubishi, and he has also arranged for us to have a courtesy vehicle while ours is being looked at. How is that for Great service. Our 1st 15000km service is almost due so we arranged for eagers to do that as well.

Many Thanks Deb

Good stuff,
Shame all the dealers don't offer that quality of service.
