How many liters of oil into the 2.5 DID?

I have looked all around and can`t find any post about this topic oil engine.
I have pour 7.5 liters into it last week, find it three or four milimeters over upper oil stick hole.
First oil change at dealer had 8 liters and was higher on the oil stick as i remember.
How many liters do you pour into your 2.5 diesel engine?

I have found 7 liters will put mine right on the top mark with a filter change

What oil did you go for. I was told the wrong sort would cause the particulate filter to block up. From memory I was recommended to use a synthetic.

No dpf on triton.

Depending on how long you let it drain and the temp that it is drainign ataround 7-7.3 litres is about right.

Definately no DPF on Triton.

I pour Mobil 1 5w40 ESP syntetic oil, expensive but I can pull it up to 20,000 kilometers.
I just send a sample to lab, as soon as I recive veredict I`ll post it.

Escuse me, what`s DPF?

Diesel Particulate Filter

It removes the sooty yucky bad stuff from the exhaust gas.

Thanks Racer, I use the original Mitsubishi oil filter. Mobil sells one that is specialy suited for syntetic oil users. But I ignore if it is a DPF.

In the trucking industry there is a centrifugal motor oil filter thar is very respected keeping sloot off, but I ignore if other heavy oil components into the new oils can be drained off too with a systen like this.
