MOOON’S BUILD part 1
Better late than never
We picked up our Triton up in august 2010 Gunmetal grey GLXR all the normal dribble plus
Alloy bullbar
HELLA COMET 450 driving lights
Mitsubishi sports canopy
Reversing camera
Spray on rhino tub liner
After a quick hand over in the rain the nudge bar & sports bar were thrown in the back & off we went
We thought to ourselves it’s got everything we could need

Not having any 4WDing how wrong could we have been
I logged on to the NTN site for the first time on Sat Aug 14, 2010 1:53 pm
My first post was Sun Sep 12, 2010 8:49 pm
That’s when the spending began I blame SNOOOZY
After a quick intro Snooozy put me on to the Grampians trip that was in its infancy page 15 of 38
So the first mods began
a set of indestructible bash plates from baysie
a set of 255/65R17 MAXISS BIGHORNS on the factory alloys
& a GME CB radio

What else would you need at the gramps
What the hell we thought may as well go and get a camper trailer

I've never really had much control when it comes to spending
Our first trip with NTN proved what everyone says great people fun times & lots of friendly advice
Wasn't happy with the barge arse the MN’s have so I decided to chop the factory tow bar

This lifted it almost 4” and was more than happy with the result
The next weekend trip away saw going to Thompson’s dam
River crossings I thought better get a snorkel now I really liked the safari’s but had concerns with all that plastic on the outside of the guard plus all the extra holes

Wombat state Forrest got crossed up result one dented tub and stuck for a while

so it didn't take much to convince Mrs. Mooons that a rear bar would of saved the tub & a winch would have pulled us out of the crap hole so it was off to ARB for a rear bar & warn winch

now as the factory bullbar was not winch compatible the smart thing to do was get a deluxe bar to mount the winch on

I'm not sure how the longranger tank got in the order but hey who am I to complain

to be continued

Bout time you got off your lazy arse and did a build thread Mooons!

Been some big changes over the last year, it's a seriously kitted out Triton now. There is still a long list of mods to add to the above

That camper trailer looks like the bloody Taj Mahal...it's huge

You were meant to roll it on the HC trip so the rest of us could strip her down and leave you with a canteen of water and a mobile phone that only gets a signal when the cloud cover lifts.

Don't leave anything out in part 2...we want a full inventory for the next trip / salvage opportunity. ;)

Nice work 8-)

As usual, a laugh a minute

I don't think you needed much encouragement ;) I only arranged the bash plates, just as well too, or you would have had a stuffed actuator to go with the bashed in rear end that you protected after the event

Great to see you finally got around to showing off your - sorry....Mrs Mooons vehicle.

Looking forward to the rest of the story 8-)

I can't help but think that Mrs Mooons may be reminded of the damaged rear end should a modification not quite make the approval list... suddenly it may become a necessity for that next mod! :)

good one Mooons. :D

I have found the womenz can be talked around when you show them the benefits of each mod. 8-) and it sounds like you get good support from Mrs Mooons. ;)

don't embarrass me into doing a build thread.

Good work Mooons, also glad to hear surging stopped too.

You inspired me to get the rear step tow bar BEFORE i smashed it

Your damaged tub photos helped the up sell to the MRS

That's it......I'm now going to call the camper "THE SWAMP". now to find a piece of wood to make the sign.

One of those mods was my Christmas present last year, the snorkel and yes I did ask for it.
