Update...

Fitted a pair of lights today. All up done in under 1hr.

There very shallow mounting. I was a little worried about if they would integrate with a Safari type snorkel. The Ralliart item is the serpent type that enters through higher in the guard.

Suffice to say these lights are about 1/3 of the bulk of the standard polly carb items. The really don't protrude any further into the engine bay that the radiator support panel.

Plenty of room behind the inlet duct for the snorkel. They have a full plug n play loom per light. Fused power / ground to the battery, relay and adapter plugs connecting the Hi / Low beams and indicators.

They also have the servos attached and come with cables to self level the projectors. Unfortunately there's no plug in the loom to connect this too.

The Low beam is a H7 globe. I will do some research and see if I can retro fit a switch to utilise the levelling function. Then it would be legal to convert to HID !!!

Wired up the LED plate lamps on the tailgate also. Just need to fit rear mud flaps to keep the popo happy and were done.

Camper all hooked up for the weekend !!!

They were imported from Ralliart in Japan. A contact of mine bought the last of there stock. I secured 10 sets for myself and a few mates that expressed interest.

Ok so I've gotten a few messages regarding the lights if they suit LHD or RHD vehicles.

The light cut plate inside the Low beam projector.

By backing out these three screws you can rotate the projector housing in the light frame to switch between LHD or RHD.

Very

Finally got around to replacing my broken bash plate mount today.

Cut the other survivor off also and swapped for some HD items...

Tidied up the wiring post headlight instal today.

Also took the plunge and fitted a HID kit I had in the shed from my old Outback.

Super cheap Auto have 50% off Narva globes at the moment. Grabbed a pair of +120 H7's to go into the High Beams.

Next job is to reinstate the second battery into the tub. I did have it on top of the rear bar though have lost that option with the 1/4 chop.

Swings and merry go rounds...

Not quite. Levelling needs to be "self" levelling. So happens automatically when you start the car and is based on sensors in front and rear suspension that read the angle of the vehicle relative to the road and then adjust lights accordingly. Also need high pressure washers and about 10 sets of headlights that need to be submitted for destruction and beam testing. All a bit hard, really, especially the $100K to pay the buggers to destroy brand new lights and record the results. :?

Those bulbs you bought will get the best out of those projectors, plus there is halogen upgrade path if you wanted to spend the money on the Hella premium range projectors. For now, though, looks cool and certainly different.

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay us to do it?

Cheers for that 5th. The +120 globes certainly kick ass in these lights that's for sure !!!

Relocated the 2nd battery into the tub today. The Drifta draw set has this handy little storage cupboard along side the LHS rear wheel arch.

It's was a pretty easy job as I just fitted a 30mm electrical gland into the tub floor just behind the rear well.

This fits the 6b&s feed from the CTEK and the 2 x 6mm feeds, one into the cab and the other spare tail.

Even with the 120ah AGM there's still room for the first aid kit and emergency poo ticket stash.

As always, well thought out and well executed. If you're ever near the ACT I'd love to see this beast in the flesh.

Thanks mate. Next time were in town I'll flick ya a PM. ;)

So transferred the air on board system into the tub also. Ended up fitting with a lil persuasion.

The tank was pretty easy. Ended up using some left over Rhino bar mounts. The threaded swage fit perfectly into the ridge line in the tub. Saved using a nutsert or welding on a nut.

Like the water I've run a 2m tail of 8mm line out of the tub.

I've got one of the ARB hose and inflation kits. To match up with the same fittings as the ARB stuff. Bunnings are the only place I could find that sell them. The fitting kit was$14.

ARB use the "Charge Air" type fittings so Ryco or Nitto won't fit.

I still have to re route the tank drain bung. I might just use a push in connect and run it out of the tub somewhere.

I just got some drawers last week and I was planning on doing the exact same thing! I'm curious to see more detail on your wiring behind that panel. Would you care to illustrate that more closely?

Also, The Brindabellas are pretty under rated, I have mapped most of it now and found some pretty gnarly tracks that some people are completely unaware of.

It's just a pre fab unit from jaycar. I looked at buying all the bits and it was cheaper just to get this.

IP66 or there abouts pre wired unit.

There all fused switches. For the LED lights I just run straight off the switch.
For the water pump and compressor I just use the switch to activate a relay.

Add 3m of retractable braided hose and we've got water on demand...

I wired up a 6 outlet switch panel to control lights, pump, 2 x 12v outlets and on board air. The SJS canopy has quite a large sweep of the rear window. As such it took a little messing around to get the drop slide running smooth.

Hi mate,

I want to get a Boab style water tank set up with a tap like yours but no idea where to buy the parts from.

I reckon I could fit myself with some simple instructions. If you have some time would you please let me know where I can buy the tap from , the hosing, what length I need and if it is a pain to get the tank out if you need to fill/clean it etc? Many thanks Liz

I managed to score a great deal on some new hoops for the Triton. My local Beaurepaiers were offering 20% off and a further 20% being the last day of the month on some family and friends deal.

The end result was 4 x Goodyear Duratrac's fitted, balanced and aligned for $1100. There a fairly aggresive looking AT tyre with side biters and a cool rim protector. They seem to be a popular choice for a lot of mining companies for use on there fleet vehicles so I thought I'd give them a go.

I decided to go back to a 32" so am running them in a 265/75x16. Although the 285's (33") look a lot better there just a hastle and really not worth the headaches on the Triton.

I gave them a real workout on the recent HC trip and was very impressed with their performance on the drive over, in the mud, rocks and gravel roads. I was running them at 38psi on the blacktop and at 24psi off road. After the 3000km trip there was no cuts or chipping. They handled all the greasy climbs and rocks well.

Hi Mate,

Liz again, I notice that these tyres have prob been on for a few years now..how have you gone with them..? I also have the 2 inch ultimate lift and have cooper ST's on. I want a more aggresive looking tyre without going illegal or too big/noisy? These look like they would do the trick for me..look like a muddie but are and aggresive ST..what are they like on sand? Much noise on the road and have they worn well?

G'day Liz,

I've had these on for aprox 30k kms. There a fantastic tyre all round.

There wearing really well with no cuts or chips. Considering they've done two HC and two Flinders Ranges trips thats saying something. Like all tyres rotate often, keep your alignment in check, adjust pressures to suit conditions and they will thank you for it by rewarding you with great longevity.
