Hi motor, I notice you have drifta drawers as I do, just wondering if you cut your drawers back to fit the tank or had them made to suit.
Great setup btw.

G'day Melba, mate I gave the measurements to Luke when they made the draws. We allowed the 80mm for the tank so it all worked out spot on.

On a side note I was playing around with a photo app today.

Came up pretty cool.

What's the app, looks great. Another questions was the bolt latch on the bottom of the left draw it's hard to see, mine didn't have that :(

The app is Superphoto. Just got the free version ;)

The latch on the left locks in the pull out kitchen. It's a free standing unit with fold over bench top and its own draw.

We ordered the draw set with a spare draw for the LHS for when we don't need the kitchen on a trip.

Motoz MN GLX R: Evolution of a Warrior

Postby motoz on Thu Feb 18, 2016 7:18 pm

So it's been a long time between mods. Life got a little busy there for a while and the Triton sat abandoned for almost 1year without any love.

Alas were back on track and I'm in the process of tying up a few loose ends and finally fitting some more kit I've had stored.

To be installed:
TJM scrub rails grafted onto my Hazzard Engineering sliders.
1" body lift
7 Rocker Switch Panel
Pioneer double din stereo
Winch service
and a few other bits n bobs.

First up was the 25mm body lift. I'm running DMS adjustable suspension set at just over 2" lift. I've had issues with running 33's on 0 offset. The fronts still hit in the wheel arches at full flex. The BL should fix this once and for all.

So winch service was under way. Couldn't find anything online though had a heap of tools, solvent bath and a tub of grease.

All went well and had no parts left over... lol

Next up the BL. I bought a kit from Luxafifts in Tassie. Straight bolt up and took 3hrs all up. There was a bit of dicking around with the steering bracket and fabing some riser blocks for one of the tub mounts. Nothing too hard.

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1455791363.674811.jpg

Next was lifting the T13 to suit the BL + a bit more. There a great bar yet sit way too low and stick out too far. Some cheeky fab and we got 50mm lift in the bar. Looks great and has really helped entry angle.

The front bar is lifted up to just under the head lights, very happy with the result.

I tidied up the rocklights and made some aluminium brackets. These mount to the OEM sidestep mounts. Should have done it this way from the start yet you get that...

Haha i was over the shaking steering wheel and the constant ifs problems and took a pretty extreme approach to a solution but at the same time i dont believe its that extreme haha. I made sure i have used all factory bushes and ball joints so i can buy them anywhere. The only custom things on the car are the panhard and the suspension. The panhard is cromoly so shouldnt be breaking that any time soon and the suspension is fox racing shocks with compression adjusters to make it abit stiffer on the road

Can you tell us any more about the auto cooler? I've got that project on one of many back burners but there haven't been many people post details of doing it.

Sure.

I bought it with the Intercooler. It's a massive unit that runs vertically from the radiator support down the length of the radiator. The cooler is a 30,000 BTU unit.

I don't run it through the radiator anymore. ;)
As you know these are plagued with overheating issues and this has solved it.

If you were running the AC thermo fan I doubt you could get this to work unless you swapped it to the other side.

The thermofan may be a problem. Will have to suss out if I can space it out a little. Did you have to cap off something to bypass the radiator?

Nice work on the latest mods Motozs. I agree the t13 bars hang too low and stick out, did you manage to push it back any distance. Been always wondering about moding it
Would you be able to chuck up a pic from a distance so i can see how the bar looks in perspective to the car.

No. From my understanding the radiator is just a water jacket to help get the trans up to temp quicker. (I may be wrong)

I just bypassed that, bunged the ends and routed the hoses direct. No use adding extra heat to the radiators on these things... BOOM !!!

Hey mate. We only moved it back about 30mm. The winch cradle is the sticking point.

I likey.
Now to ponder doing mine, i take it you moved just the bar by modding the winch cradle then redrilled the bar to suit

No the cradle wasn't modified at all. Nor was any of the main brackets that bolt to the chassis. The bottom lip of the bar used to sit under the cradle It now sits on top with about a 15mm gap.

We did a bit of trimming around the Hi Lift jack points and had to notch a section on either side. These were then reinforced with some gussets I cut out with the plasma.

It's just cleaner and has increased the entry angle in front of the wheels.

So I got sick of all the scratches on the inner door handle trim plates. I've touched them up a few times with Tamiya silver paint.

The plan was to get them Hydrodipped though just can't justify the cost. I ended up using the left over Plastidip from the grill and headlight surrounds.

Came up a treat...

Even found the time to give it a bath also. Plus a dose of surface spray as there are spiders in the roof racks, both door mirrors and in the winch control box !!!
