I finally got around to ordering some 'cree' reverse light globes for Surgeio from eBay.

They look much better now they match the Narva lights.

Nice white light all round now

At the last Grampians trip, I did a deal with Amanda for her original wheels. :D After taking a few months to pick them up, (Thanks for holding onto them for me Amanda  ), then a few more to decide what I wanted to do with them, I had them powder coated satin black.

Looks good mate. I hate to suggest it, but it might be time for some tyre shine. That or dirty up those shiny rims...

It's funny you should say that, I had the bottle of it ready to go but decided I'd rather get them dirty instead.

I guess there are still some matte black bits there, with the snorkel and rubber on the bullbar etc. If the rest of the truck wasn't so shiny I wouldn't have noticed the contrast.

Thanks Steane, they are growing on me. ;)

The original wheels are fine, I'll either keep them as spares or fit them to my camper trailer.

Hello Sej

Cowboy Dave and Tex directed me to your build thread. Very impressed with your rig. I'm interested in how you find the replacement reversing bulbs. Would they provide sufficient light by themselves without your Narvas? I've got a canopy on mine and find it hard to see when reversing. I was looking for an easy option and didn't really want to drill holes and fit additional light fittings.

Thanks.

I have those led bulbs too - they're very good, way better than stock. With a canopy on though a reversing camera becomes your best bet.

It is hard to tell with the Narva lights going, I only put them in for the white light as the standard ones were too yellow.

As CD said, they are better than the standard globes.

Thanks again. I've booked the Triton in to have a reversing camera fitted tomorrow. Got one at Auto Barn for $89. Fitting will set me back $150 and I'm having him install an extra wire, terminated with an anderson plug at the tow harness for fitting to my camper trailer later. All up a hell of a lot cheaper than the almost $1000 quoted by the dealer.

I'll also order a set of the bulbs from ebay.

Thanks for the advice.

The KM2s would be better in sloppy mud but that's about the only time I think they'd be better. IMO ;)

Sorry to jump on your thread Sej, nice looking truck btw. Doria7, I bought the 7w LED rev lights in Sej's link, wasn't all that impressed, but way better than the originals. Just waiting on some new 11w ones with 4x side LED's to arrive. Im hoping the sides will reflect more off the reflectors inside the housing and disperse the light a bit more as I found the ones like Sej linked were very "spot light".

Good write up Sej. Was there any fuel consumption difference between the Stt and the km2? Will have to get together for a trip in to wombat.

Cheers Thommo, there was not any noticeable difference between the KM2s and the ST Maxx's but they have the same rolling diameter :D

I feel there may be a Wombat trip planned very soon ;)

Have you sorted out your canopy yet?

Not yet mate the 15th of this month I believe he is saying that it is badly damaged (scratches etc) even though we said that the SJS canopy had to be fully re sprayed as a result of the bubbling paint and the interior needed fully replacing as it was cut too short from factory even he admitted this. Will just be glad to get it over and done with and never have to deal with state wide auto and offroad Preston.

As I posted in the life's good thread, I had been having trouble with my Narva 225s moving on bumpy roads and this was even with the updated housings.

So while at the 4x4 show last month I spoke to George from Narva and he said he'd look after me with some new housings..... Anyway, today I got a new set from lights, not just the housings. :D
