Excuse my drawing. Trying to get some ideas for the canopy. Not sure if I'll hinge it like my old fastback canopy and have the whole hatch open on gas struts, or have gullwing type doors on either side. Either way the canopy will follow the shape of the roofline and be lower at the rear than the front.
Spare wheel and recovery gear will be housed under the tray.Click to view larger picture

That design is quite different, I actually like the look. Will look sweet when it's done.

its a shame the intake for the older style V8 air intake manifold is plumbed to the side making it harder to get the dual snorkel effect going.

The later ls1 engines have the manifold central making it easier to split into 2 airboxes/ 2 snorkles

I like the shape of the canopy to match into the shape of the cabin, but the vehicle is already looking high so unless you can get the tray to sit a bit lower it will show a LOT of space at the back and may not look right?

just a worry, but your at the design stage so you can work on the design ;)

Gday mate, I agree a central throttle body would be ideal. As it stands I'm goung to place a 3 inch pipe parrallel to the inside of the radiator support panal. It will directly link into each snorkel. I'll have a T from it up to the bottom of the air box. Hopefully should come up neat.

I can always drop the suspension. It has an EFS 5 inch lift with the weight of a Patrol on it. She sits a little higher due to the Tritons body wieght.

If stability becomes an issue I can wack GU diffs under it with neg44 rims and make it really wide. As is stands the wheel track suit the Triton's body well.

Yes mate, I'll plate the wings like an Xrox and follow the tubing up over the wheel arch like I did with my original Xrox bar. I'll use a similar theme at the back to tie in the tray and slider. I'm thinking the canopy or hatch will lift up at the top like my old fastback canopy and will be easy to remove.
If it all looks terrible I'll put my Xrox and brush bars on it.

I'm not sure if it the pic or me but I like the xrox approach as that bar looks a little out of proportion to the triton body.
Nice work btw

It should look ok once the gaps are fillĺed in. Its the same width as my Xrox. The brush bars will flow up and over the gaurds as they previously did.

If you take the plate off the top of the Xrox it would look similar.Click to view larger picture

Snorkels nearly done. Need to sort out the plumbing now with flexi tube to the air box and the crossover pipe.

Then back to the tray. [GRINNING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]Click to view larger pictureClick to view larger pictureClick to view larger pictureClick to view larger pictureClick to view larger picture

Gday mate. I'm playing around with a few ideas. I think I'll have them as gaurds and run the flaps under them. Will see how it all fits!!
