Hey mate, sorry no drawings. I just planned it as i went but got the main ideas from Johno and ratstriton. Only reason being is I had to make sure the frame didnt sit in the grooves of the tub liner as it would have been too hard to secure to the tub.. and i custom made mine so it fits my 2 batteries and water tank if need be.

but all the guys on here that have made this system before have been really helpful, so if you need any help just let us know

Capral Aluminium Qubelok is the product. It comes in 6.5m lengths its a lot cheaper if you can get it direct through one of their centers than through hardware stores. We use a fair bit of the stuff at work.

Damn i wish i knew that before lol. I was paying $15 for 2 m length, but in retrospect still only cost $250 to make the frame and $30 for the drawers.

Most expensive part is the runners, they were $150 from ebay

wow that's an expensive bit of aluminium :o
I got mine through the local steel supplies (steel one) for $23 for a 6.5m length.
If anyone else gets this stuff, just make sure you get the thicker wall size.
Cheers Johno

As stated 1.2mm, the joiners that i used would have been too loose.(from here http://www.easyjoin.biz/)
With a thicker wall they are quite tight, so the use of pop rivet are not required.
If any one else is considering using these type of joiners consider using some of the corner braces and rivet in place.
Cheers Johno

Almost finished.... Since last update, i've installed all the panels and covered it all in carpet.. and installed the 240V power. Just have a few handles to put on and then take it away camping!

Has anyone seen or built themselves a set of drawers that are a half-height setup?

Reason is, i've now got an ML tray with hard tonneau and am looking to maximise the space in there without getting a canopy. I want a half-height drawer on one side only so i can house all my recovery gear in that. I'll put the second battery and compressor behind the wheel arch on that side to fill in the space.

Any info would be great. Cheers

You can build them to any height you like, but by the time you factor in the width of the wood and the frame, you wont have much of a box behind the wheel arch.

I'm thinking of doing a set for myself out of 12mm plywood with a fridge slide
& plenty of storage compartments. It'll have several hatches on stainless piano
hinge & all be covered in marine carpet.

Heres a couple of pics of the last one I did for a mates Hilux which housed
a massive fridge on a draw slide for camping/fishing/surfing & left plenty of room
for daily use when the fridge was taken out.

Love it !!!
I'd love similar but just one long drawer next to fridge but still the boxes behind wheel arches.

Thanks Trumpy, the last set i did was like that, basically
the same as above but a draw that slid out the same length
as the fridge slide.
