Lee's White MN GLX+

Postby lgil86 on Mon Dec 02, 2013 5:43 pm

Starting a thread to document my build up. It's going to be slow going and money permitting, don't do a whole lot of off road driving so mainly going to concentrate on bar work and making the truck more user friendly to begin with. Who knows what else down the line, lots of money spending ideas on this site!!

Pick up day (pissed down all day for the first time in a month...typical! :( )

Thanks Tony.

Yea I was happy enough plodding about in the RVA until I took a drive up towards Anna Bay and seen some of the dunes in the closed off section. Its still closed for camping as well, bit disappointing as was wanting to camp down there over xmas.

Actually need to thank you too mate, was looking at your Airtec install pictures and seen you mentioned there was a sale coming up. Emailed TJM Newcastle and they were straight back with a quote of $615.20 fully installed. Could of done it this week only I'm working out of town. :)

Love the look of a car on the beach 8-) Good price for a snorkel & install. Make sure that they use the pop rivets on the door bracket & not tech screws, the screw wear the door rubbers away. Just my 2c worth. ;)

Thanks for the heads up Duck, ill make sure and tell them. Yea wasn't planning on a snorkel for a while but can't knock it at that price, and I do like the Airtec. I need to make sure they protect whatever metal they expose quite well too as I live about 500m from the back of the dunes at Stockton and have found some rust on the drive shaft, exhaust and chassis rail already. Nothing major of course but more than I would expect on a 4 week old car.

Finally got time to get my sliders fitted up. Made by a local guy at Warners Bay and they look as strong as hell. He builds competition trucks and does a lot of custom bar work on cruisers and patrols etc. these were the first sliders he has done for a triton. Very happy with the quality, guy has got some skills.

They are full length from the back of the front mud flap to the front of the rear arch. Should offer plenty of protection and are wide enough to let [censored] heads in car parks damage their doors on while keeping mine dent free...

Went out to Wallaroo State Forest for a look after getting the sliders fitted up.

Tracks were dry but the mudholes are still wet and stinky, most of the bad sections had chicken tracks which was good because I was on my own. and it was getting late in the afternoon. just had a quick look but will have to get back out with another vehicle sometime and go a bit deeper. Anyone know where the old quarry is??

Got my TJM rear bar fitted up a couple of weeks ago. Happy with it although there is a bad bit of powdercoating on one of the bends so they took photos and sent them off to HQ to see what they want to do about it.

Good protection for the tub now and I don't have to look behind me when I reverse anymore, saving time and effort I can use elsewhere! Win!
