I have wondered if gearing it down would help with fuel economy to make up for the wheels.

dave

Fuel was good with the chip and not as much weight on her. At the moment I'm not running the chip and weight keeps adding up. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the triton much longer so I've eased off on the parts.

If I do keep plan to keep it I'll do the diff gears, get some 285s all terrains, long range tank and ecutek tune.

Was almost ready to by a tray, I think I'll do something very similar like you have, look great.

Can you give me some more info on how you did the light for the number plate?
Will the stock light simply bolt / weld on?

Cheers

Cheers savagess, at least there's a few options now to choose from which ever way you go.

For the number plate I just bought 2 little leds that I bolted to the corner of the license plate and wired it straight into the stock number plate light.

Cheers

Glad I managed to come across this build, I saw your triton the other week in ocean keys but only driving past and thought how nice it looked.

Now I can have a read and see what you have done to it.
I said to my missus when I seen it, "That's nice isn't it - is it bigger than my triton"
Her reply was "yes"

haha bitch

Cheers mase, tyres are 295/70/17. It does roll a tiny bit faster in low range then factory but I don't feel the need to get crawler gears in there.

Yeh mate keen - I just live in ocean reef.

Surprisingly av never done two rocks, generally head to wilbinga so maybe a look around two rocks would be the go.

If I had the money, mates who can fab and big cahonas I would love to chop my tub! That is absolutely un real! In love with this truck!
Solid build! Everything you have done just highlights all the curves and makes this rig tough!
Solid job! I now have a truck to envy and push my build towards!
Hoping to get 32's-33's on my sunnys r16!

I guess that's sort of a Holden or ford type of question... Each are all good in their own qualities, I have all arb gear from suspension to drawers canope racks bar bash plates sliders brush bars ect.. But they're ridiculously priced.
Tjm I have heard great things about and as goes for the rest... It's all personal choice and how much green you're willing to lay down each person will have their own opinion which they will swear by, but honestly my 2cents, you've listed top brands, they're all gonna be decent! Best bet is to design the car around what you'll do most, and go have a chat to each company and see what ideas they have and recommendations! Then the choice is yours!
Either way! Good luck! Build sounds like it's gonna be a good one!

Thanks for that mate, you should go ahead and chop your tub, it's a lot cheaper and easier than everyone thinks. And worst case scenario if it doesn't work out then a steel tray conversion is always an option. I had a look at your shed, you've got a pretty nice build going on there yourself. Good stuff

Cheers for that mate, I see you have a new triton, it definetly becomes addictive once you start modding it. Good luck with it and post some pics up.
