Looking good mate, can't wait to see finished product. Having made one yourself how much would you think is a decent quote for a custom ally tray to be made up. Been quoted between 5 and 6, just wanna make sure I'm not receiving the old 'Darwin no competition so you'll pay what we say' markup...

It really depends on 1.The materials, If they are a standard grade material ,general 6060 or a higher grade, standard 3mm box and channel or 4 to 6mm thick. 2.You can easily throw 40 to 60 hours plus into a custom tray depending on how custom. So it doesn't sound too dear but again it depends on how its built and how custom.
Hope that helps. Ian

While the Rear Air locker was being fitted today we took the opportunity to remove the plastic breather then remove the splash guard (spot welded on the inside) leaving a 16mm hole in the diff. all we had to do then is drill it out to 17.5mm and then tap it to 1/2" bsp. Insert a 1/2" to 1/8" reducing nipple and it all done.

Found a 165A/H battery that is long and thin to fit into the canopy
Decided to remove part of the box section under the front window to get the battery as far forward as possible, Bent up a tray and welded it in. Now I have to work out where I am going to place the Redarc etc

Geez I wish I had even half your skills. Is it about 4 inches thick? I have a Remco that is shaped like that but when I bought they were only doing 105AH - 165 is pretty extreme. I bet it weighs a bit. Mine was something like 25kg.

Good size battery Ian....probably a good size to make up some sort of mount for it under the tub also.

Yes, I was going to put it under but all the Electrics/Redarc/Breakers etc will be going into the canopy and after a lot of to and froing we decided that when the canopy is off we wont need the battery set up. The battery size will allow to fit in a lot of places.
