Starting on installing my dual battery system during the week.
Haven't finished it off yet due to itchy right foot. Only cure i can find is to just drive it.
Brought a complete ABR caravan kit. I like their stuff, have installed 3 units previously for myself & others.

Double insulated the cable, and then slide it through the chassis.
Don't knock the garden hose, its far better then corrugated tubing.

And although not cheap, i picked up a set of factory GLX-R wheels today.
Had the tire shop fit up some as new 265/70/17 Coopers that my brother gave me.

Seems factory suspension doesn't have a issue with this tire size.
Went for a drive down the old North Australia Railway corridor which has a few ruts and a creek crossing and not 1 issue to report.

Here is a pic of the old rail bridge in the background of the last pic.

Snorkel arrived mid week, will fit as time allows.
Also took the fam to the TJM open day this morning. Im really liking their canopy due to the back window sits in a frame. Better design then ArrrB, i reckon.

Love the garden hose idea. Shoulda went black garden hose tho lol.
I love the wheels. Much better then Sunnies. 265/70r17 is the tyre size i am saving for.
Have you got a heavy duty bash guard yet? Ironman sell a kit including the gearbox guard for around $400.

Start a new thread, or ask in my own thread ? My camper trailer is up to sh!t again.

Some recent history  viewtopic.php?f=15&t=16621

Yesterday i got a phone call from my younger brother.
At the time he was in Halls Creek WA and says after visiting Wolf Creek Crater the trailer is crab walking down the road. Discussed the options, and from what he told me over the phone we come to the conclusion the axle had walked back along the spring.
Now he has put it back to where it should be, and he did say he WASN'T sure if the axle u-bolts were tight enough before he undone them.
So the question :?:
Is this just a case of bad luck, IE did the corrugations of the Tanimi highway cause this ?
Could the contractor in Alice forgot to tighten the u bolts up ?
Or, has there been mechanical failure im not aware of ?
The trailer is MD V1 with slipper springs.
I have been recently been thinking of swapping in eye to eye springs, maybe this is the kick in the but in need ?

On the + side. The replacement ARB window arrived today for his triton.
I post a pic so people know they don't have to chip glass of their old frame, this is how they are sold.
- I didn't know

Also brought this for my Drag slicks.... errr i mean triton

The whole glass piece can be removed from the top hinge so you can just replace the glass rather that the whole surround

Open further than 90degrees and put some weight on the corner it should "clip" out

Did that glass with frame come with installation instructions?

I'd be interested as I have a window I'm thinking of swapping but am a little uncertain as to the process.

Sorry mate, fell sick and didn't notice your Q.
No instructions.
Taking an ARB window out of its frame only takes 60 secs.
Take a small flat blade screw driver, and pop the c clips off the lift up struts.
As 4wd26. Open the glass further then the struts will normally allow, press on one corner & it will just pop out.
I found the hinge will bind before the glass will touch anything it shouldn't when lifting up.
Its super easy.

Thanks mate but I was talking the whole frame. I have a lift up front window in my canopy and scored a used sliding window in its frame since they don't sell them new anymore or offer them as an option. But the frame looks like it needs splitting in two, one half outside and one inside, presumably sandwiching the canopy in between to hold on. I am not too keen on trying to pull it apart though if there might be some instructions that have an easier way to do it than whatever I make up as I go along.

All you need is a 1/4" hex socket to undo about 16 or so screws.
I took the frame out whilst i was waiting for the window to arrive.

So the little black ones all around the edge? And then I should be able to pry apart the two sides, put one inside and one outside and screw them back together? Sounds nice and easy but the 'outside' part is between canopy and ute so limited access. Will have to break out some handy clamps or get a helper to lean through the rear window of the cab.

Then I have to straighten the new frame (since it's a bit bent) and work out whether I could be bothered finding a matching black paint to repaint the scratches on the damaged one before putting it on.

Yep, the inside frame will just fall in, its super light & flimsy on its own.
The outside frame should hold itself in place till you gently apply force to push it out.
You will need a small impact driver/drill to put the screws in, IF the replacement frame has never been fitted. Also check the new frame has the weather seal fitted. You can't peal it off the old one. ARB has this, it wasn't much $.

So, $2700 odd later i have a TJM canopy fitted.
I narrowed my options down to TJM vrs ARB, but the TJM has bigger windows, is actually colour coded, and smooth finish for $120 extra.

Nice rig m8. can you give me any tips how I can fit the same oricom uhf088 in the same place in my triton? eg do you have to remove the plastic tray from the dash first? if so how? or does the uhf just fit in and if so how did you feed the wiring through the plastic? how is the uhf fixed in the DIN space?any tips greatly appreciated regards bakerboy16

Righty o.
I'm still here, my Triton is a only a weekender and often goes without been driven for a month.

So i just got back from Finke again and was washing the undercarriage and noticed this
Different angle
My springs are bent.
Surprise surprise, well not really, we all know they are crap but honestly Ive never overloaded & the camper is 50kg short of the max ball weight.
Rather then argue i took the opportunity to upgrade.
If your reading this and want to know something, my number is 045nine2one92fize0. (No driving ute = no trolling forum)
Now i always wanted a Ultimate kit. Its designed so much better, however when i found this kit at $935 i couldn't go past it.
Do i need to say don't try this at home ? This is how i compressed the front springs.
Had the 2nd strut out, built and fitted in 45mins.

Ive now got the dreaded shudder.
I flipped the center bearing & massive improvement however i will need to get a spacer to eliminate it completely.
