sth MN triton build

Postby Horan on Tue Sep 02, 2014 7:59 pm

Hey guys I've been around the forum for a few months now but only started reading the different post's and builds in the last couple of days and it has inspired me to start my own build thread it's a bit late I should have started in December last year and wish I started one then so I could have kept track of the transformation of the triton.

The triton was a spur of the moment buy we walked in to the dealership and walked out with the new MN glx-r the same day with out even floor mats. Needless to say the mods started with in 24 hours. with a little girl just entering the world six months ealier I decided I wanted something to be able to get out and show her Australia and have a bit of fun getting there.

We brought the triton bog stock standard and have done all the fitting and mods in my workshop or at home.

The first lot of mods I will put on will start tomorrow with a wireless winch controller install and a few mods to my canopy and some more 12v sockets.

Thank you to everyone one here inspiring me to make my first post and start tracking my project

Hey duck the first photo is Old coach Rd off the great ocean Rd. Went to melb for the 4x4 expo and couldn't help myself.

Yea the light setup works well the driving lights are cheap hids I brought a gq and they came on it so I pulled them off and put them on the triton and the light bar is a Iron Man one.

The canopy is a dui day.

Cheers sam

Hey moses I'll grab some more in a couple of weeks I wanna pull it off and change a few things put some wings on it it's a really simple design I just didn't want to have the black hook points along the sides so instead used sail rail attached to the canopy and to secure it used four tjm canopy mounts.

Hey I'm not overly impressed the cheap hid lights I had on before seem to put out more light but that may only be because the big reds have no spread option. They do throw a good straight beam and instant light overall I'd say 7/10. I payed 238 each. and the hids took 30 or so seconds to warm up so good to have instant light.

I just bought a pair of these lights today so was good to see this quick review. I have a light bar also which would help with the spread beam. You got them for a good price, I managed to getting down to $249 a pop.
