DENTED's triton.

Postby DENTED on Fri Nov 07, 2014 10:00 am

Well,
I like many other couldn't resist the ridiculously cheap price of a glx+ 6 or so months ago.
I needed a reliable daily and something for those longer distance camping/4x4 trips.

A little about me.
My names Josh. I used to be into (and still am a little) motorcross and enduro, but after few big get offs and too much time in a wheelchair I got into 4x4.
Weapon of choice was and is the trusty sierras. Have had a few and am not sure if I will ever not have one. I love them. They are addictive. I have had a few 4x4's In between. Patrols lwb and swb. Holden rodeos. Hilux's.
I'm currently building a swb Sierra in the shed and have a lwb one who's future is undecided yet.

As for the triton! I love it. Cops everything I throw at it. And for the money I can't be happier.
As for the moment it is stock. As it came off the floor .
I have just ordered tjm bullbar and brushbars, bash plates, snorkel and few other little goodies to light up the night sky.
I have also just ordered a set of adjustable coilovers. Can not wait until these arrive! :) completely adjustable up to 2 1/2 inches. Wouldn't mind a winch just for the backup but haven't been to serious about getting one yet.
I am pretty happy with the stock height. More or less just wanted to even it out once the weight on the front drops it down.
I will be getting 265s soon as I do a lot of highway stuff to work. Temped for the 285s but I still need decent economy.
Few things to come,
Wouldn't mind an exhaust. But haven't read anything about chosen sizes yet. Thinking 3 inch from turbo back.
Lots of photos once install is finished.
It's in for the 30000 service in a few weeks. Intake clean and good going over. And then the cool air egr mod gets bolted in.
I think this forum is great, lots of good info and people on here.
Well that's enough about me and my junk for now. Photos to come in the next few weeks.!
Cheers !

Josh.

So is it the triton that's dented or you? Or are you just planning ahead?

Either way welcome along, hope you enjoy the ride

Well the DENTED bit is me. Always denting everything. Sierras are not straight and neither is the six month old triton. Few lil ones here and there. I don't go out meaning too it just happens! Adds character! :)

Yeah the 30000 has come up quite quickly. Has been a lot of play time in those kms though. Not all highway kms but a lot of. Maybe 500 a week. The rest being trips away. My pop has a farm few hundred kms away so that racks up a few. Afl grand final from Sydney. Few kms there. Even though swans lost. Was worth it.
I'll probably end up with 50-60 thou in 12 months. So far so good. Better than the hilux . ;)

I'm from south of Sydney near Wollongong. It's pretty good.
I am getting itchy now and it's only been a few days since ordering the gear!
Can not wait. Might have to get the tyres this week. ;)

Well in the last few weeks I have had the bullbar and siderails fitted also the snorkel.
And today I just got a package.
My ADJUSTABLE COILOVERS Arrived.
To say I am excited would be an understatement.
Not going in just yet.
Have a few goodies to install including a winch, dual battery system, lights all round and the coilovers now.
Can not wait until I get a spare weekend to rip into it! Photos to come when I get my computer back.
I'm going to the shed. :)

Well,
Few more things to save for after Christmas and the car will be finished .
I got a light bar for Chrissy, just need to get some 7" HID driving lights.

Then to install I have the coilovers. Tornou cover. Driving lights.
At the local wreckers there is front and rear 4.1 diffs.
Might go and grab them for when the tyres go on to keep the final ratios the same.
I do a lot of highway driving so I need the drive up the hills in 5th.

I just serviced it too!
Ended up getting the castrol magnatec for a good price so used that. Oil fual and air filters changed.

Happy as Larry.

Also new shoes. 265 75 16 Bridgestone muddies on 16x8 king steelies.

Squeezed a 12000lb winch in my bullbar too. Lil bit big but was the right price .

Well just leaving this afternoon for a trip into the red centre. Nothing too serious this trip as it's my first time, yes I'm a red centre virgin.
I have sooooo much weight inboard for two people! Hahaha!
Rooftop tent awning and rear canvas canopy, 80l of water. 40l of diesel, and plently of litres of tooheys and jack.
To say I'm excited would be saying the least. Updates and photos in a few weeks.
Cheers.
