Bakes' MN Build

Hey guys,

Thought I would start a build thread here to document my progress, not only for myself, but so you fine ladies and gentlemen can offer any advice you might have.

2010 GLXR with 100K on the clock.

I have had the Triton for 3 months and have done the following to it in this time.

- The day I bought it. Used with

Came with nudge bar and rear step, no tub liner or tow bar.

- First item on the agenda was to get some a/t tyres on it.

General Grabbers AT2 - 265/65 R17

- Then it was time to give these tyres a go

Didn't want to go to far as I was by myself, had work in 4 hours and was 2 hours from home.

Didn't get stuck, got home, made it to work :(

- Next item on the agenda was a towbar

I decided to take the rear step off as it decreased the departure angle when a towbar was put on. Still have it if anyone wants to buy it from me ;)

Then after a day at the 4x4 show I came away with a Bull bar, and roof racks fitted for $1700

Very happy with the quality. Comes with a lifetime warranty and the roof racks will be put to good use.

I also bought a UHF combo pack from fleabay

Never wired anything up in my life so its not the cleanest job but it works...

I have got a trip down to the Warren River planned next fortnight so I will have to take some happy snaps while I'm down there.

Eventually will have a snorkel, lift kit, awning and possibly a canopy one day.

Bar is made by Parkside Towbars, a well known company in WA. Comes with a lifetime warranty.

Roof racks are heavy duty racks made my Rhino Rack.

Hard to pick from the photos but that front flare looks like it might be a bit close to the bullbar. Ideally you want a bit of a gap as the bar will move more than you expect when off-road and can pop the flare right off if you're unlucky. There's a video here somewhere with a go pro running as a car flexes which shows it really well.

Yeah there is only about 10-15mm between the bar and the flare. How much would be ideal?
