HI GUYS!
have been lurking around on this site for a while and thought i might start a build up post on my pride and joy!

its a 2007 GLXR 4X4 in black, as an apprentice electrician i havent got a ton of money to spend, so i try to make every bit count when i mod it!
when im not working i usually want to be hunting or fishing so i needed an adequate tourer to get me through the thick bush and that i can set up a camp around!so far this is what has been done!

- 2" old man emu suspension lift on 31" cooper tyres all terrain.
- 125l long ranger fuel tank
- ARB bash plate and under armour
- ARB safari deluxe front bar with brush rails/ rocksliders and side steps!
- safari snorkel
- drawer system in the back
- ARB canope with ARB roof racks
- tinted windows all dark
- dual batteries with redarc charger and baintech ports
- muffler delete at the rear and high flow k & n filter,
- UHF radio
- rear tailgate has a plate made up across it
probably lots more forgotten! if there are any questions feel free to ask away! :)

lighting
- 2 x 12" spotlights HID on the front
- LED light bar
- 2 x flood light bars on roof at either side with 2 x spotlights in the middle.
all headlights and parkers have been changed to LED
all interior lights changed to LED
LED tail lights
LED lights in all front footwells and rear footwells that turn on when the doors are opened and then fade to dark when closed.
LED lights in rear canope

Looks cool

What have you got attached to the inside of the tailgate?

Just a piece of sheet metal black pop riveted to the back end of the tailgate instead of the plastic bumpy bit! Just helps with placing cups or cooling stuff without it spilling, gutting fish or deer, chopping stuff, fairly useful!

Thank you! Was a bit of a pain trying to hook it up to the door switch so it shuts on and off automatically but definitely helps at night, or if you drop something on the floor!

I quite like the look of that. How did you mount the lights?

And did you tap into the courtesy light circuit near the fuse box or pick it up on its way into the doors somewhere?

Some of the lancers came with red lights in the foot wells for added bling which I reckon would be kind of fun.

Not really but if it should accidentally happen next time I pull the dash apart, that wouldn't be a completely terrible thing....

Hey mate, I basically placed the led strip on the bar under the seat facing into the front foot well, and one facing into the rear footwell, I then ran it just along the carpet about 2cm to the door pillars and wrapped it up in black, can't even see it. I then was able to just poke a cable from the door sensors with in the pillar down to the led strip cable, and then tapped off a cable inside the footwell panel, which created a switched circuit, if you want when I'm home I'm more than happy to upload some photos and a better instruction?

I should be able to suss it out mate. I was more wondering if there was any trick to mounting the lights under the seats to allow for movement when they're being adjusted. And whether you'd found the circuit that a forum member called Diablo used for side step courtesy lighting.

Ok no worries, yea to allow for adjustment I left slight cable slack under the seat away from the rollers and rails!
Yea the doors switch using a ground, which is the plunger, so what I did was find any hard active ( constantly powered ) floating around ( easiest way was in the little pocket left of the passengers footwell and then drivers right ). I then ran that straight to the positive on the led strip. Next I ran a cable up the pillar to the plunger, surprisingly easy, the way the plunger works is when the doors are closed it pushes the rod in separating the two plates, causing an open circuit and lights turn off, when the doors open the spring returns causing the two plates to contact and ground the circuit, lights turn on, I also did courtesy lights for my side rails by tapping off the circuit I just ran for the footwells. I ran it out through the firewall, down under the chassis and along in split corry, and then to another led strip bar hidden along the side of the foot rail! So when the doors open say the passengers side, the front left and rear left footwells light up along with the side steps! And the right side drivers stays dark until drivers door opens!
Do note though that the rear doors won't lighten up until front doors are open, this is because it looked almost impossible and not worth my time to tap into the rear door plunger, so rear lights run off of the front plungers!

Sorry for the mouthful! Hope it helps

Those look like the outback drawers that ARB sells. I have the same on mine. The best bit is the sliding tops but you pay for the privilege.
