We got it sorted in the end :)
Air freight overnight from Sydney $20 happy with that.

David@Brash has helped me out with looms for the POS.

Now I just need a caddy ? for the head unit to fit nicely into the pocket. Called all the wreckers... any other ideas ?

Use some of this stuff mate, it comes in all shapes and sizes and can be bent, cut or whatever to make it fit what you're trying to do.

The thing is, unlike most head units - the S150 has no spots for screws or the like.

Do I need to order the pocket part of the GLXR for the head unit ?

Right. So what does the head unit have then? Are you sure it doesn't just click into the existing setup or something?

single din snip.JPG

Does it look like the above? If so the bit I've added an arrow to is the bit that locks into place in the factory slot. But if you didn't already have a single din head unit in that location then you have no cradle in place to lock into...

If you remove the pocket from the dash you should find there are 2 right angled brackets holding the pocket in place. If you remove the silver bits in that image you may be able to find some screw holes left over that you can then drill through the OEM brackets to match.

Damn Dave do you have the internet plugged into your head!!!

You come up with eveyrhting so fast.

One screw either side isn't going to hold it in place unfortunately.

I though about welding it for a second lol.

The factory head unit or pocket is held in by screws but these will not work for aftermarket head units. You'll need a standard DIN cage which has tabs that you bend to hold it in place. Available at any car sound shop and most auto parts stores.

The head unit then just slides into the cage and clicks into place.

So I stayed up until 1:30am fitting the s150 pure android system. What a PITA.

David@Brash's supplied a loom and canbus from a s100 which wouldn't work on its own. I pulled apart the loom that came with the s150 unit and wired + - ACC and LUM to a dedicated patch panel that I have installed.

I plugged the loom and canbus into the triton's loom - but only added the GOD plug A.K.A steering wheel controls etc. to the head unit itself.

Ony thing playing up at the moment is the rear vision camera. I wired power direct to the reverse light on the LHS but am not getting any video.

The Yellow VGA lead has a red wire at both ends of the plug but is only 10cm long.

Any ideas ?

Hey Slim, yep, take it all to an auto/audio specialist and get them to sort it out, save you a lot of grief. Money well spent IMHO.
Good luck with it all and post up some pic's when finished.

It's called a Chinese puzzle. You have to plug one RCA plug in at the camera and the other RCA at the head unit. Then join the two red wires. ;)

Have you connected the reverse power line at the head unit? Or plugged the RCA into the other lead which is for an extra video feed?

Nooooooooooo! Just leave them. Until you work out how to connect them together, without using any other wire.

SLIMaxPower wrote:the camera is fed power direct from the reverse light at rear of vehicle

Correct. But the head unit needs a power feed when reverse is selected to know that it has to change function to reversing camera.
