I'm sure it was some sort of joke, like a bomb defusing scene from a movie or something.

Having a few issues with my central locking - needs to be right up close and personal for it to work.

Also wondering if anyone has added something to make it beep. ie beep unlock double beep lock ?

I assume some kit from jaycar may do it ?

I'd say the battery in the remote is failing- had to replace mine due to the same sort of thing

do you want the triton to make the noise of the key fob?

the triton may be able to have that function "enabled" by the etacs, which is a dealer MUT3 thing.
I don't know if this is an available option, someone may be able to answer

I'd say key battery as well.

I haven't seen any indication of a noise for lock and unlock in the manual. Car alarms have that function usually so I guess it is something that you could add. Maybe wire it into the horn somehow? I'd find that too noisy. On mine I can hear the door locks but I'm guessing you want to hear it further away?

Our Kluger beeps or chirps - no alarm in it.

Horn definitely not.

6 months usage and its flat ? that's pretty poor.

I will take the spare for a week and try that.

The Kluger bogs easier.

I don't have pics but i had the triton bogged in a mud hole last sunday with my 4 yr old up at the kwinana rail yards.

This is the hole

Took maybe 7 hours with my karcher to get all the mud out from under her....

So still looking for ideas for lock/unlock sound ? Get one from a toyota wreckers ?

Door actuators, unless you want it to beep while you drive.

Picked up that thread with Google earlier today before I posted here. Seems a little tacky, although will be a last resort.

What are you wanting to get from Toyota? Surely you're only going to be able to use the actual noise maker part of it?

It's literally going to be a small piezo speaker that CD has linked to.

Door lock actuators should have two incoming wires (plus an earth). One will activate the solenoid to lock, the other to unlock.

Tap into these and connect to something like this which will/should give you two different tones for lock and unlock. Need to check because signal is very short.

May be necessary to put diodes in at the tapping points. Would definitely be necessary if you used a single tone piezo.

The beep won't be popular with the neighbours, nor aid you if you get home late and are trying not to wake the wife. ;)

That's why I was going to get one from Toyota - they don't seem to be as loud as one of those jaycar jobs

Jaycar has a wide selection of sirens etc I'm sure you could find one that's not too loud.

Otherwise I'd talk to a car alarm place since they usually make a chirp type noise in much the same way as you're talking about.

I'd get the side cutters out if the Triton beeped or chirped every time I went near it.

If you're near the vehicle you get plenty audio from the actuators and if you're at some distance you can't be guaranteed that the sound came from yours.

More useful would be the locking/unlocking action to keep the parkers on for a period when its dark.

I am in and out 10 to 20 times a day, mostly with ipod/ear protection plus I am having issues with my remotes. Tested both remotes and both have no range - have to be right beside to lock/unlock.
