Charcoal MN GLXR

Hey Guys.

Just kicking off a bit of a build thread to help log progress, and hopefully get some pointers from you all!

This is my first 4x4. Picked her up about 3 weeks ago, and have already been bitten by the mods bug. Trying hard to hold back,as this is my daily, and I do a bit of driving for work. It was very clean, looked to have never been of road, almost immaculate as far as a used car goes.

Day 1. A little grandpa spec. Went and joined forum and gained some ideas.

3-4 week mark.
- Picked up a 28" light bar from eBay. Certainly does the trick. Turns night into day.
- Ripped off the hard lid and sports bar. I've had Utes in the past and have found hard lids absolutely in convenient.
- Went with the 2" outback armour susp kit. And 285/75/16 toyo ATs. Wheels are +20 Did a fair bit of research in regards to tyre size on here and elsewhere. Lots of people were for and against the 33's. I decided to roll the dice.
- Added the rhino roof racks, with plans for a roof top tent. Read plenty about denting roofs, and opted against doing so. Then had a rack knocked up at work, to sit the tent on top. Just needs paint.

Future mods
- snorkel
- xrox bar
- rear bar
- more lights
- chip/exhaust

Thanks for reading!

Pete - hopefully my funds can keep your interest afloat!

The tent is an Adventure Kings. From 4WDsupacentre online. Got a good deal on it with the awning and annex. Did the job well over Easter!

Sorry to hound you with questions but are you able to post a couple of pics of your rack and how it mounts? I assume you've drilled mounting holes into the tub lip? Are you running a liner with the rack fitted?

Thanks Zav.

Beaker. Check the rooftop tent thread in exterior mods, a couple of pics there. Yeh had to drill some holes. And utilise other holes from where the hard lid and sports bar were mounted. The amount of shit that is drilled through the lip for the hard lid is ludicrous.

Been fairly busy lately. A couple of new inclusions.

Picked up a second hand ARB Canopy with internal frame etc. Just needs some paint. Currently dark blue. From what I can see these are a really good quality unit. This one has rear demister, internal lighting, racks and drop down front window. Really happy with it.

Threw on a snorkel aswell. It took a few beers before I game enough to get the drill out. And took most of the next day to sort out. Instructions say 3 hours?? More like 13 hours!

Just an eBay cheapie.. Seems to do the job ok?!

I changed my mind on the canopy. Looking at other options ie: canvas canopy, or floating ideas of a tray. It's all money tho!
