yeah it was hot today
that battery mount looks good, but I hope that it mounts off something more solid than the sheet metal, even if it is in multiple places.

what sized/ weight battery has it been made for?

well boys and girl i have been a little busy in the tuning department again and i have now had the car back on the dyno for a 3rd remap
and by 3rd remap i mean complete brand new start from the stock car
as most of you know i have had a fair few problems with this animal of a challenger but after the last tuning i still wasint happy so i keep looking
and i found the rail limiter was still bugging out i could only get to 21k pressure and then i would catch glimps on the droping rail pressure
so i said srcew it im changing it out agin for the 3rd time with tonys new upspec custom spring one that he made me
so i put it in there and straight away the car was a pig using fuel (lol well more) and blowing black smoke and gutless
so i rang ULTIMATE DIESEL up and said pls need to look at the files in my car gave them the story and we dynoed it again

here is the results much better this time
if you remember my first dyno sheet not very good curve at all now it is a lot better
i try and find other post with the other dyno results

dyno 2.JPG

and
dyno 1.JPG

this is the finished result and wow i thought the car was good first time around this thing now goes like a dog shot in the a##e
it pulls all the way in the rpm and gears and plants you to the seat
mind you they had a lot of trouble as the first dyno files had to be removed as they couldn't get anything above 78kw???
so they completely removed redone the tune from scratch (57 dyno runs later mind you i think it was lol) but they have it spot on now and pulls harder than a 10th grade boy on a nudiest beach lol

they did find the car runs rich from stock as you can see from the dyno results
and the few dyno runs the afr was jumping al over the place
it should be stepped but mine was up down up down

only complaint i have is it sounds tractory now at idle as in it sounds rattley and has a little rattley from the injectors now but all in all it goes great now

and the 3rd tune didnt cost me a cent
i cant praise the ULTIMATE DIESEL TUNING guys enough great work lads and car is awsome to drive now
and no smoke lol

So the symptoms wrt the rail limiter coughy; does the pressure usually ramp up and sit at a steady max when driving or does it normally hunt around with changing revs?

A few days back, mine rail pressure would stay at around 2 to 3k psi on take off (no power) and then shoot up to around 18000 once revs picked up. Put it down to sticking SCV.

Mines a ml 3.2, but never seems to go above around 18000psi very often and only around half of this when cruising on level ground.

Good spot to plant the second battery. Have you addressed any gassing or electrolyte overfolw while its charging, or is it sealed unit?

it is a sealed unit m8
2k-3k on idle is low
could be a sticky scv but it should go over 18k on flat foot
yes it moves up and down with throttle but at a constant foot it sits stable usually

well this weekend i just did the rear suspension bump stop as the original ones are shagged
i used the gu patrol bump stops which are a little longer but work excellent as in the going over speed bumps and the like as the rear end of the car dont bounce and porpus when on the road

sizes.JPG

this is the rear springs i have fitted

spring.JPG

and this is the difference in sizes it is a little longer but work great
nice upgrade for $110 so now the van will tow very nicley

while i had it up in the air i thought i would give the brakes a looking over as i come back from a dirty weekend ion the bush with mud all over , under , in ,ect the car so i went looking the back slides i cleaned out and relubed with slide heat grease and cleaned out the rear drum hand brake was all pritty good considering the muddy snot we was going threw lol

the front was up in the air so i did a tyre swap and rotate but the front caliper has the rubber boot pinched and a hole in it and the rubber boot coming out of the piston and caliper i thought os Bugger and a few more choice words said
so i ordered a new set of front calipers with the backing plate delivered to my door $190 for the pair i was like WTF winner winner chicken dinner as the wreckers wonted $125 ea i was F that

so yer next weekend is the front swap out of calipers

well an update the tcc has been ordered and fitted for the towing of the van now for the testing in a couple weeks when we go away for a week

very easy to do and install and only needed one wire cut and joined to 2 from the tcc box and 2 others soldered on to the acc and power wires
but the hardest thing was where the hell am i going to put the tcc brain(BOX) and the resistor lol but i did it and all is good works very well on first quick testing with out towing

tcc.JPG

also added a aux power in the trailer plug for the van lights heheheh for the night travels so i dont need to turn on switchs when hooked up to the car for the lights in van lol lazy i know but oh well easy
getting software update tomorrow then back to tuners for the tune to be replaced

Neat layout there coughy.

Still some vacant acreage around those switches though! Maybe some side lights and beacon could take some space.
