Coughy's Build it up Thread

Postby coughy on Sun Jul 26, 2015 5:05 pm

well i have been on this great forum for a whie now so i thought that i would start my own thread for a build
well the love afar started with my beloved 2004 mitsubishi challenger
here is the old girl was just before i traded it in
on this little sweet heart at the car yard
i got $10,000 trade for the 2004 so i was super happy with that
new one had 45k on the clock for a PB 2010 XLS

and with the poxy nudge bar and Bahahahahaha super cheap 30 special spot lights

first thing i told the dealer if we going to do a deal that front crap has to go
so i had this fitted before i picked it up

then i placed my new Xray hids 200mm on there
that looks much better already.
then next some goodies turned up
king springs 2" lift and Blue max shocks and struts

next i coupied old daves rv meter install and retro refit

then i fitted a uniden remote head unit uhf radio
then i started on the mods here from the fourm
well lets just say that it is costing me alot of money being here on the great forum
Read this First ;) ;)Then still cant find what you are after

next was wind booster and wow now the car feels like it should with out the laggy foot pedal
next was the asc over ride so i can turn it of permantly
next was the diff lock on when i wont over ride so i can turn the read diff lock on in any mod even 2wd with asc and tc off
next was the traction control off when i say so mod lol all of the time if i wont in any mod even in 2wd
next was the automatic disable asc when i place it in 4h mod so i dont have to turn of that asc crap every time i go 4x4 ing even after restating the car

then i was lucky to be on the ebay site and found a mmcs over ride kit cheap and brand new for $65 delivered WINNER

then i fitted a mitsubishi driving light switch so it looks like a oem one. it is fitted onr the right side near the diff lock switch in the hole already there WINNER

then fitted a dual usb charging socket in the lower right side near the cig lighter socket .

on the other side down there is my micro switchs for my over rides mods

i then replaced all of the bulbs for leds on the rear of the car and i mean all about 12 of them lol but hay they nice and bright and i wont have to replace them any time soon
oh ps i fitted res to the system so no mil codes

i then have fitted
summit trail climbers 265/70/17 A/W tyres and there are great only have had them on for a couple days but first impressions seem real good

then i took to painting the wheel archs as they were starting to show signs of wear and tear

then a new battery was in order as the oem one is 5 year old and getting harder to start in the cold mornings
this is a win for me secret squirrel stuff if you know what i mean

then the secondary filter was fitted ty to tony and his insite to wow just wow filtering of fuel
in this picky you can see i fitted a catch can as well back towards the start of the car build

next i did was repaint the side steps as they were faded and crappy looking

was going to leave the chally like this

but wifey said it looks naked and besides the fact she said " i cant get in to the damn thing put them back on"

so i did

oh forgot to say that i put in hid 35 watt fast start lights from a great forum member and they are great lots more light than i had before
and yes for all of you belters out there i have had the lights ajusted and i have light washers

then i painted the wiper arms but then not dry yet ggrrr

im running a stand alone boost and bleed of system for the little turbo and she goes well
next is the chip when i hear back from spv industries.
then a 3" zorst

this was all done over a 18 month period as i didnt take the time to start a build thread until now sorry for cramming it in like this but here we are

i have ordered a digital boost with 3 Bar boost sensor for Diesel Engine. Pressure range: -0.3 bar to 3.3 bar(-5.0 psi to 48 psi)relative pressure (gauge pressure) and egt guage with probe from the states for the fitment ready for the chip ;) ;) ;)

next i would like to get some shiney new mag wheels as the standard ones are puss
then what ever tony and the forum anticks come out that i like
im thinking a arm rest on the drivers door and the middle need some attention they are hard as hell so they might get a run soon

all i could see was m8 trying to get me to help them all of the time move and clean up for them :x :x
i have 3 younger kids and the wagon fits all of the needs so far so maybe later a trity ute

Might want another isolator. One for each end.

And I know when I ran mine in my challenger the easiest path was down the drivers side sill and out the rear air con plate, terminated in an anderson plug so I could pull battery out of boot whenever needed

ok so the egt probe is in and the boost controller

it is amazing how high these little suckers go in the temp with no chip in the system
and a standard exhaust ...
600c isnt short of the high temps :o :o
so now it is testing time with the dom mk1 chip and some tunes
hopefully i can twist wifeys arm and get the 3" zorst sooner rather then later

as well as fitted the hi spec limiter valve to the fuel rail took about a hour
much easier with the throttle body removed
ps garth i think it was man u need to eat some more weetbix bro wasnt that tight to undo
now she hammers and doesnt go in to run out of fuel mode when the loud pedal is mashed and held to the floor and im screaming woo hoo and fanging down the street

removed the hids lighting as they have had a little isssue (hissy fit)and im back to normal shitty lights for a bit until they get sorted out by the fantastic service of the supplier
you know how you are cheers

finished off the dual battery install and tested for working ability with the inverter connected running a radio and drill all sweet

i think im ready for the GYMPIE MUSTER

YER YER whole weekend with out the kids cant wait
just me wifey and some good mates

Re: Coughy's Build it up Thread

Postby coughy on Thu Oct 01, 2015 8:13 pm

so an update on the build
i have nilly finished the dual battery install just need the box for the boot now
just need to finish of the anderson plug at the tow bar
will happen this week end

i have installed t3 platnuim cross drilled/slotted rotors on the front and new pads as well now she stops on a dime .
The pads were not a usual type (Bendix) so i thought what the hell only $45 a set for the front so i went for it and they are great
the rotors delivered to my door $165 a pair what a bargain
next is the back pads..

will take some snappy shots tomorrow

i decided to move the catch can closer to the turbo and remove the long hoses to tidy up engine bay
with a custom bracket made and plumbing

modified the boost controlller and plumbed it up a different way (ty TONY) and it seems to be better now with the turbo ajustment as well ty (person you now who you are)
aswell as changed the egt probe.

drilled some more holes in the bash plate front (standard) to get some more air in the coolers

removed the intercooler and cleaned out the oil and snot in there was even easier than i thought

bought a vacum gauge/pump for testing and mucking around that i do

I replaced the tail lights with some newer shiney led light bulbs these ones work SSOO much better than the other cheap crap leds i had
new ones
this is the old one's crap dont buy
next will be indicators of the same type
while im on the lights i changed the interior lights that are in the doors x 4 with little leds and now much better :D :D :D

I got a new set of led festoon which has 6 5050smd chips and they are much much better now i can see in the car at night
but not to bright were my eyes getting gouged out with a blunt fork
well this is all been over a few weeks of tinkering
as the minister of finance and war states YOU ARE A TINKERING PAIN IN HER A**E
but what she dont get is if i had to pay someone for the mods and TINKERING I DO we woould be no food on the table
ggggrrrr woman just dont under stand the TINKERING right we males have
now i have a big new shiney shed to play in hehehehehehehe

well thats it for now until SNOOZY makes / does a nother mod i need to copy

well it has been some time since i updated so here we go with some updates

ive had some drl laying around in my shed that a m8 gave me and i have tried to fit in the bullbar but no bananas
so i look into fitting these again and this is what i came up with

this is the poto type and i have since modified it so now it if fully ajustable for the light

i will get a picky with the lights on
and yes they turn off with the main lights are turned on automatically like magic lol

am running a custom tune from Mr tony Thank you m8 it is running sweet now and not one limp so far as i just came back from a towing trip of the boat and didnt miss a beat
could go for a bit more top end tho tony....

and now that snoozy has fitted a new horn now i need to get one lol
damn you snoooozzyy

Sweet ride mate. How do the Angel eyes in those headlights work? They turn on during the day and turn off when the low beams come on?

here is a picky off the drl on

i have wired it up so that the drl stay on with the parkers as the spotlights have a halo ring when turned on the parkers
thought it looks cool to have the halo of the spotts and the drl on
when i turn on the lights the halo on the spotts stays on and the drl turn off...
i will get a picky a bit later when sun goes down a bit to show you.
the angle eyes as u call them are standard in my xls with no halo unfortunately
