'12 MN from Turkey

Hello all,
After building a '07 ML and abused that on the trail for a long while, here comes the new one;

Razorback Canopy & Thule bars to hold the RTT;

I can't wait to get rid of those shiny roof bars asap :oops: . It seems like they are bonded there with Sikaflex or some kind of silicone. Let's see what i can do...

Just a word from the experienced.
Although the razorback canopy is steel and rated to handle a RTT, it doesn't.
Carried a shovel, highlift and spare tyre across the Simpson desert on the original bars and they dented the roof where they attached. I had to make up internal bars to carry any load on the roof, including the RTT.

Original bars are piece of crap. But these Thule's are real bars. I've used the same setup on my ex ML for more than 10.000km's on mountains without any issues...

Not blaming the bars. It was the roof flexing and bending.

Just FYI

Thanks Snakesoup.
Yepp they are real 15's :)
I do not have the correct angle photo at the moment.
They stick out a bit ( most probably enough to be a headache with your laws :) ) but the calipers still have enough clearance and they are completely "in" the wheels.

I run 15" rims most the time mate :) mine are -26 I believe and have more clearance than 16" rims at 0 offset :) I'm a big fan of the 15's nice work b'luv

Installed longer rear shackles;

And unfortunately near full lock there is a slight rubbing issue at front inner guards. Can i find out how to trim that fender guard?

Just noticed that rubbing is not at full lock. Rubbing is at 1/4 turns remaining to lock. Pass that point, no rubbing.
