Cas's, 2013 MN GLX-R Build-up on a Budget

Hey Team, have recently purchased my MN Triton
Work that have been done and that you cant see is a long range fuel tank.

So it came with a ARB Canopy, I decided to go against this as I needed give space to my 2 lil kids in the tub (PUPS).

So what I have done to date is swap out the Chrome Parts for Carbon black Parts (Or Plastidip), The Nudge bar was also resprayed, I also did the Standard Triton Alloys.

Work I have in the pipe line (bare in mind, this man is on a budget)
Bash Plates
2inch Body lift
2inch Suspension Lift
Make a custom tray, get rid of my tub.
Bull-bar with winch
Roof racks and cage
UHF radio
Dual Battery set up.

So i am bit of a handyman, and intend to install all and do work my self, I anticipate it will take 6 months to do the above. I am doing this on a budget and will update with my progress including costs etc.

Once I figure how to upload Photos, I will.

That black plastidip looks really nice mate. I generally don't mind the chrome but that effort has got me thinking twice.

I have a GLX so would have less chrome to cover otherwise I would be driving down to get a can.

Nice work mate. Keen to hear how progress goes with the body and suspension lift. I am keen to do it to mine but am also on a budget and if it ends up going pear shaped it is a big expensive waste of money. potentially anyway. I would also be getting the parts and attempting this myself. Suspension lift anyway.
Keeping the shiny side up since 1984. :D

Looks good mate. How'd you end up spraying the mirrors and handles? Any tips?

I used a lot of masking tape and plastic bags and it took a day to paint the entire vehicle, only took a day because masking the vehicle took about 2-3 hours, then every 30-40 mins I would spray a light coat, ensuring that it was light and didn't run.

Yeah mate, I will update the progress, just trawling through wreckers, gumtree and Ebay to find some good deals, I will go with a brand new suspension lift, and everything else prob be second hand. Haha

What bull bar are you looking at getting?
Also are you going to fit the Body lift yourself?

We seem to have similar mod interests 8-)

I can definitely tell the difference mate, going from 8.7l per 100km open road to 9.5l per 100km.

Takes abit more power to get the larger wheels spinning as well, off road, they dig in to the terrain great and get me where I want to go. havent had any ill effects on my cv or bearings, as I have not got a lift in it yet.

Cheers for the feed back team.

So did a quick tally on dollars spent to date

$50 for the plasti dip paint
$189 for the OCAM 4x4 Snorkel, weather shields and Bonnet Protector
$250 for the Boo Bash Plates
$1300 for the 265/75/16 tires and rims (16/8 sunraisyas) x 5
