So I picked up my dual cab Triton yesterday. It is replacing a 1998 Honda CRV which had 642000km on clock...so it is a big improvement. Very happy so far.

When I bought the car it had a hard lid fitted to the tray, however the seller had a tonneau cover, roof racks and ladder rack which he threw in with the sale. For my use (throwing mountain bikes, trailbike, kayaks etc in regularly, loads to tip etc) the hard lid was useless.

Today I removed the hard lid, unfortunately the previous owner was a bit ham fisted in his approch to installing it. I managed to get it off and cover his shitty job pretty well.

I installed the rear ladder rack and roof racks as well.

Was too dark for photos of today's progress, will post in morning.

Looks good mate, welcome.
You usually can sell a hard lid setup for a couple hundred bucks.
Those ladder racks would be good for carting the Kayaks around.

yeah cobber that is the plan. Sell the hard lid to fund window tints.

Here she is with the ladder racks and roof racks fitted.

After (well almost, I popped the screws in after photo):

Nice easy mod which will hopefully reduce the dust. Gave all the vents and the sytem a good blow/suck with shop vac while I had it open as it was full of leaves and dust from previous owner. New filter snould stop it happening again. The airbag wire was a bit stressful but not too bad :D

Oil and filter kit ordered for the weekend, give it a full service and going over then work out what mods come next :)

Does your ladder rack have a brand or logo on it anywhere? Im looking for a set with those ear things on top. Surprisingly hard to find for a decent price.

ute looks good, anything else planned for it?

The ladder rack is made by local tasmanian mob. This is their website: http://kingtt.com.au/ it is a brilliant bit of kit. Easily removable wiht two (solid) grub screws and carries a load well.

As for future mods, only small stuff at this stage, seat spacers, EGR delete, Upgrade the roof racks as these cheapies are noisy. Window tints...then drive it for a while and work out what needs doing.
