I'm actually in the process of trying to sort a good trade price on the grills as Tony said you can't get them over there . Hopefully I'll have a nice price soon for you .

I've never seen such rusty coils on a rolling rig.

Lol , that's the norm over here . They put so much salt crap on the roads in the winter that we suffer from tin worm allergen time .
I am actually changing all my shocks and springs soon though when I find a good reasonable replacement .

Ha..you need some sort of canvas tube over the coil wire and fill with grease.

Yes the salt is a bastard in all countries where they have snow and ice. I would think the old
Alfa Suds used to turn into Flintstone mobiles pretty quickly over there.

I'm just in the process of making a twin gauge pillar cover for the truck
So far I've bonded the pod on and started smoothing it in . Hopefully tomorrow I'll have it finished and painted body colour . Click to view larger pictureClick to view larger picture

Yes it was . If you look at a real rusty panel it won't be smooth and shiney , it's all lumpy , pitted and dull .
Hence the look of the cover .

Thanks mate .
I like to try and do things myself , it gives you a great satisfaction to be able to stand back and say that you at least gave it a go .
Nobody over here makes a specific fit pillar mount , just universal ones .
So now I've made one I'm going to make another and then give it to a mate that makes fibreglass parts and get him to make a mould from it , then I can make as many as I want and offer them over here for sale .

Thanks mate .
I'm actually in the process of making another one exactly the same that a mate will use to make a mould from , then I'm going to make a batch of them from fibreglass as no-one over here makes them for the triton .
Then I can offer them as gel coat finish , colour coded , or textured .

Nicely done. We can already buy a similar thing over here although they're not well finished and you have to stick it to the original trim to make it work.

I guess you don't have quite the same sun glare problem in the UK as we do here, but I reckon that gloss finish would soon get old for me.

I've been trying to work out where to put two gauges myself lately. I didn't like the pillar pod idea much having worked on one in a mate's car, but didn't mind the column mount options available for some other cars. Couldn't find one for a triton of course. Over here you can also buy a clip in version for some cars that is basically a replacement pod where the hood is over your double din unit with a couple of angled gauge mounts. I've even seen a pod that clips into where that little side air vent is in the dash and sits above the dash from there. You guessed it though, cars other than the triton. So if you get bored....

Yeah I'll dig some up, there's a few options around for other cars but as far as I could find it's a pretty untapped market when it comes to tritons.

i reckon it would look cool as to have the twin pod mount moulded to fit on top of the double din in the middle of the dash with a slight angle to the driver and finished like animals nice designing finess and skills
sort of like this i reckon

Yeah the bottom one I had seen and liked. The better ones, in my view at least, look like they're slightly embedded into the surrounding material heightwise rather than sitting proud on top of the surface.

The gloss carbon fibre is a little too boy racer for me but does seem popular.
