What height have you got from the center of your wheel to underside of your guard?

yeah i reckon 285's would be the better option to suit the lift , thats not going to happen any time soon though i just bought these ones :(

havent driven it yet because of my lack of licence at the moment , have to get the missus to drive to some bush so i can have a go

Buzzy those ride heights are just for comparison before and after , have to get it on some level ground with the bar on the front to get true measurements

I'll look forward to your "where's my bloody bar" post in early August.

Not wishing bad luck on you, just seems to be the way it is with them

I had this problem too. Trimmed them then GLX-RSilver told me the trick of flexing the front suspension on one side to get them in one at a time.

I was wondering how the new tyres are going. I am in the process of getting new tyres and was interested in what you think of the ATZ 4ribs. Iam deciding between a few brands and trying to get as much info as possible. So could you tell me the following
1. Are they noisy on the road.
2. Before you got the suspension lift did you have any trouble with the larger diameter. eg scrubbing the inner guards or anything ( I dont have a lift kit yet ).
3. How are they on the road in the wet.
4. How are they wearing.
5. How much did they cost.
And anything else you can tell me.
Thanks heaps
Spinner
PS The triton looks great

Hey spinner this is my first 4wd so im lacking in tyres to compare these to apart from the stockers

noise-- little bit over stock tyres but not loud by any means , just a slight humm

scrubbing-- had no dramas with them touching anything on stock ride height , this size does fit as a spare

wet road-- havnt had them in the wet yet , raining here now but lost my licence for a bit

wearing-- only done 1500km's on them so too early to tell , they have a 80,000 km warranty

cost-- they were $370 each for 265/70/17

from what ive done on the tyres so far , lots of soft sand , bit of rocky tracks , they have performed great
havnt had them in mud or clay so not sure how they go with that

i bought them because i wanted an all terain tyre but with a bit of muscle behind it , only bad thing i can think of is that my fuel consumption went up a little but that is to be expected with any larger tyre

hope this helps a bit mate , good luck :D

Dylan, check the clearance on the bump stops on the upper control arm. Even with the ten mill removed from the rubber I would almost lay london to a brick that you have no rebound capabilities. With my lift and the front bar work I still had to machine balljoint spacers to give a decent clearance. Food for thought..

Thanks for the heads up Wallace , i was wondering what the purpose of the spacers you made was
now its a bit clearer , is the extra downward travel an issue with letting the cv joints go to a more extreme angle ?
what thickness did you settle on for the spacer ?
just curious are you a machinist , im a toolmaker
thanks for the info ;)

Put them in the freezer overnight then uses a 1mm cutting disc and file finished. Dylan not a machinist but have reasonable access to machines when I need them. Just bear in mind that ball joint spacers are deemed to be illegal in most states and territories. ORIGINALLY MADE THREE SETS AT 6MM, 8MM AND 12MM.The compression of the front suspension is not an issue BUT maximum rebound and extension puts an undue abount of stress on the constant velocity joints in the front shaft, this is why Silver with his 3' lift kit had to modify the cross member by dropping it another ten mill so as to lessen the angle and therefore flattening the incline of the drive shaft....his kit also included remanufactured top arms......hope this makes sense :?:

got the bar on not too much of a hassle just cutting the bumper and flares was a bit nerve racking
came out nice but and really like the extra clearance around the front , can see more tyre aswell ;)
