The new (not quite) Triton.

Well here it finally is after almost two years of waiting.

The new work car.

I tried to buy a Triton, but it didn't quite work out - honest  ;) :D
(Cheers to everyone that helped me with all the info on Tritons just the same!!)

Anyway, it's an 09 NT GL manual diesel with rear diff lock and side/rear airbags.
The Tires are Mickey ATZ 4rib in 265/70 17.

The new suspension is coming and when funds allow, I want to add a snorkel, another spare and a roof rack.

Nice one, for a jabba...

Are you sure they're 17's...??? I was told the GLX-R Triton came standard with an alloy spare as no 17" steelies were available for the range and that's why the VR was fitted with 16's...

yes, they're 17's, I wanted 16's to save money on tires, but only 17's go over the brakes on the NT's - there's no 16' option. :|

Now that I'm looking at it in reality and not in on-line pictures, I really like the look of the steel wheels anyway.

Fair enough... Yeah 17's are stupidly priced... It does look good with the steelies, looks more capable for some reason...

Noice mate. I wasn't sure when I first saw the pics with the steelies, but they've grown on me....sorta like Blue said, looks tough or more capable.... something about the front end I think? Certainly doesn't look like a soccer mum car :)
I hate to advocate drugs, sex, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they’ve always worked for me.

A chicks tire...

I think I saw some on a Prado once..

The Mickeys are good on road, better than I expected in the wet - as soon as this thing is run-in, I'll be testing them off-road as well.. ;)

Well, the OME suspension is in now, and boy does it feel good !
The corners very flat now and has a tighter feel overall.

Only complaint I have with the thing so far is the climate control seems all over the place compared to my Volvo.

I don't really care though, because it's SOOOO good to be back in a proper 4x4 with it's awesome elevated view and tires humming away beneath !

Next thing I'm looking at is fitting a towbar - more for protecting the rear end and recovering Prados then towing.

A snorkel is also on the list, but I think my wife has reached her limit with this at the moment..

Good work still, my bro has a Paj for the handbrake and had it for a week whilst mine was worked on. Love the vehicle and if I could get back the money I spent on the Tri I would not hesitate on handing over the greenies for one of these. Enjoy the new truck.......... :D
