Radiator "Bug" Screen

Hi all, I just thought I’d share my latest "little" modification with you guys.
Firstly thanks to TRIGLXR & boo-ya for there replies about the mesh insert for the bottom of the radiator.
Unfortunately this is not something that you can just buy from someone, so I had a go at making one myself.
The hardest bit was finding the right material to do it out of, but after a search I found something that will do the job.

I wanted stainless steel and was lucky enough to find just what I wanted to my surprise.
I was hoping to get something about 1300x400mm, in stainless it was going to be expensive.
A local guy here that makes security doors said “how’s this?” (1300mmx350mm)
And the cost…. $10!!!
So with my new bit of plastic coated stainless steel in hand it was straight home and into the shed!!
After TRIGLXR told me what he did I thought I’d give it a go.

And this is the result…….

TRIGLXR put me onto it too.

Good idea I reckon as it looks better than the stock bottom grill. I used his top mesh grill inserts too.

I used the mesh from Supercheap for the bottom grill. They have it in blue and red for anyone with psychedelic coloured cars.....wonder what that would look like?

Bit of a bugger to cut right...not being the artistic type. Had to use two cardboard templates as I stuffed one up.

I stuck a GLXR badge to it in the middle....yes I'm a wanker.

Glad you said it!

Does this mod cut too much air off to the Intercooler?

If anyone in Melbourne is interested in tackling this, I have quite a bit of stainless 'fly wire' in the garage I'm happy to part with...

The supercheap stuff has larger holes than the other, but in saying that none of them would be as bad as a bull bar I'd imagine from looking at photos on here - and I've heard no complaints.
