A friend of mine delivered a belated Christmas Pressie to me today after his trip to Townsville

A Cool Silver tray from an ML VR. Spent about half an hour measuring everything on ute and tray and 99.9% sure that it will bolt straight on.

Why? 1 the more I look at the MN tray the more I dislike it.
2 The more positive I am that I will damage the tray when I do this.

So have decided it has to go. Flares look exactly the same so they should just swap straight over. Lights are exactly the same. Need to get some minor damage repaired but will be swapping over in the next few weeks.

With all the ML gear that I am putting on this ute maybe it should be called an MM

Good move if you dont need the space :) . I'm looking at finding a spare MN long tray and giving it a little trim in the rear lower quaters. Not sure how it would look though.

Those shocks and springs in the first pic out of your ML?

YEP. One months road use only on the ML. Looking to sell those. As you know, fronts only Tony

Also looking to get rid of an ML fuel tank from an 08 Diesel and a Pollack transfer valve. Was going to put in a second tank. Had it all worked out and was sourcing the bits before.

And two Sony headrest monitors, including headrests if there wanted. See here
viewtopic.php?f=30&t=4287

A Carnetix P2140 12V power supply for carputers or for running your laptop, up to 20V straight from the 12V in the car. I have been told that this will also power a XBox 360 but have never looked into it.

Hopefully in the near future, The nudge bar and the rear step as well, before i damage them

I started calling the truck Serena when I got it home. My 16y old daughter kept asking why and I wouldn't tell her. She was nearly crying when I eventually told her it was because it had a fat arse. Whole family are Tennis nuts.
Might have to start calling her Jennifer. Yummy..

Drove to Punchbowl tonight to pick up the Canopy, and you wouldn't believe it, but it is the canopy from my car that was wrecked :o How freaky is that.

I watched the auction online. I stopped bidding at $12K then put another bid in at around $15.5K. The wreck eventually sold for $19,250 :o :o. Looks like the have stripped off the canopy and put on a Alloy tray. There is no way they can do a proper repair job on that car and make money so i reakon it will be a rough repair. Some poor sod is going to spend 35 to 38 grand for a piece of crap.

Anyway canopy goes into the spray painter on 1st Feb for repairs, as they had knocked it around a bit. 7 Feb should have it installed.

You may as well fit a ML bull bar to complete the picture. They do fit. Or have you already  Very scary you have your old canopy back. Its a small world. I'm also surprised the ML made it back on the road  It will have problems for sure. :(

Can you talk to your mate about the ML bullbar fitting. I have been told that the first run of ARB bars is about 6 to 8 weeks away and will be only 50 off. :x They have predelivery orders for 150 already. :o I really need to sort something so I can get the suspension on and then I'm done and dusted with the insurance co.
I read somewhere on here recently, that the mounts are different.
No word at all from Ironman.
Can you ask him were the issues are with fitting and gap sizes etc.

I hope mine is in the 50
No idea on iron man but from what I've seen they don't fit nicely as ARB.
I'll flick you a pm latter with a contact. Two infact I know of who are doing this if the owners really persist. I haven't seen it yet my self but not a perfect fit although quite satisfactory apparently.

Ta Bob
It will certainly be used and abused in its new home. Tray looked unused when it arrived. Assume it was taken off not long after delivery.
Unfortunately an old wrist injury has been flairing up over the last month and it has got the better of me on Friday. So all work stops for a couple of weeks till it calms down, cant even sign my name properly at the moment.

Fitted up the ML tray and the "Ironman Recovery Bar" on Sat arvo without an issue. Both bolted straight up to the MN chassis.
Seems Snowman has me spooked about the Razerback canopy so I elongated the tray mounting holes by 5mm to get extra clearence. Dont know why as I never had issues with the old canopy but better safe than respraying so moved the tray back another 5 mm. Looks more like a trailor now. Will lift it by 10 mm as well when I get the galvanised spacers to make sure.
Looks a lot more curvatious now. Thats the truck I feel in love with 18 months ago. I'll put pictures up tomorrow

Pictures as promised

Certainly makes working on the rear end easy without the tray on. Run both battery cables, breather extension and Rev camera cables at the same time.

Putting the "tow Bar" on was real easy with the I beam on the roof and a chain block

Thats more like it.

Anybody want an MN tray.

ag911,

any chance you could please post a pic of the razorback corner(s) whilst not on the vehicle showing the leading edges from the bottom (can't do while on the car).

hopefully those images may allow nft5 or boosted to comment on possible modifications on cutting them back.....

Snowman.
You are too late by about 3 hrs. It went into the panel beaters this morning, and I asked him to cut back those edges whilst he was fixing it up.
Hopefully when I get there tomorrow he wont have done it and I will take a picture. He didn't seem to have a problem with it though.

You've got me running scared

So chassis/ tub mounts as well as towbar mounting points are the same.

Good to have that confirmed.

Now if only a ML to MN engine swap was so simple ;)

Cheers

not trying to scare anyone - just hope they can save some money by avoiding some of the things i have learnt.

even post mods photos of the corners would be good and any feedback on those mods would be great.
