Come on Ben It would look so back heavy. You would have to put a hundred kilos of water on the draw bar to keep the back wheels of your car on the ground. I'll keep Frankentrailor thanks. :)

any chance you could please post a pic of the razorback corner(s) whilst not on the vehicle showing the leading edges from the bottom (can't do while on the car).

hopefully those images may allow nft5 or boosted to comment on possible modifications on cutting them back.....

Unable to get back to the panel beaters to get the shots, but will take some before I install and post them up. Did talk to the workshop manager and they have cut back up to about 15mm at the corner. This has exposed some voids between the spot weld which he said they will fix. Probably with a MIG or Tig. I didn't ask. He wasnt fazed by the whole thing. He did say that the paint was extremely thick in that it looked like it had been painted all over twice. Primer, topcoat, clear, primer, topcoat, clear. He said it was a pain to feather back to get a smooth transition.

ML Bars to MN

Postby Tony on Thu Feb 04, 2010 5:14 pm

FYI

I called to my mates ARB store today and discussed the ML bar to MN in detail. Yes they fit straight on but sit 10mm closer and rub a bit. The new MN bar will use the same mount setup but has 10mm trimmed off the back in effect.

TA Tony
Spoke to Ironman 2 days ago and got a different person to last time. He said that they hadn't even scanned the front of an MN yet so no timeframe. I cancelled my ARB order to wait for the Ironman as I think all the Black on the front of the GLR will be to much. Want to break it up with some chrome. Saying that I'm also waiting on word about the MN Sahara bar

The Ironman bar had more clearance than the ARB right? 20mm or so.I recon you would have a fair chance of using the ML bar as mounts do fit.

Hey guys,
hav'nt taken muck interest in the razorback thread, but the maker of them (Thialand) has just signed on over at new hilux. If your having problems might be worth a visit to the darkside (I'll try and find/ remember the thread)

Cheers

Whiteone.

In a word no. The bar comes up higher than the bottom curvature of the tray. Did a few measurements on the MN tray and it wont fit.

These Ironman bars need to be beefed up anyway. Lot of material already bent into the right shape as a start.
Food for thought Whiteone

No wonder it had a steel bar, an aluminium bar wouldnt have been heavy enough to keep the front wheels on the ground

Is going to be interesting to see if a few MN's end up with bent chassic with all the weight that far back :?

With a twin wheel carrier a big load in the tray and then hook up the big van or boat :o  :?:

not sure the chassis will bend but Mits might have to start selling 'wheelie bars' as an optional extra...... ;)

Got my canopy back from the Smash repairers and fitted it up last Wed. did take some photos of the work the guys did cutting back the canopy, which I will post on the razorback thread. Whilst I was at it I lifted the tray by 5mm using some big Gal 40x 40 washers that we use at work. Have had all the windows tinted to 20%.
Was going to get some chrome covers for the door handles and mirrors then colour code the bullbar, when I get it, and the towbar. But with all the black on the canopy and windows etc, I might get the bullbar and towbar sprayed black and leave the handles and mirrors black. Also thinking about using that spray on black on all the tail lights and the reflectors on the canopy. Tone it down a al ittle. What do you think Boys and Girls.
