Anyone done a solid axle swap on one of these '05 + Tritons yet? Just curious :?:

Yes, it has been done.
In Thailand there are a few with sas.
They use a Solid Front Axle from a 80 series toyota landcruiser.

If you can see here, the axle is upside down

Awsumdc: I was looking at your buildup thread of the tacoma.
Very impressive work, 100% professional, I had a pathfinder before the triton and my plans where to make a SAS and I never got to do it, now I have this truck and I hope I get to do it, the only problem, we dont have professional shops to do that kind of work here in Panamá. I have a friend who is very good mechanic and he offered to do it.

Thank you very much. Doing the swaps are really not that hard especially if they have been done before. I am actually working with a couple of guys over the phone and through emails and my site to do their solid axle swaps 3,000 miles away. They ask questions, I answer them and they or some one else does the work from my direction. Seems to be working very well.

Maybe the same could be done for you. 8-)

Those guys in Thailand are not afraid to jump in and get it done. They went hog wild with the Hilux over there and they seem to be doing the same thing with the Triton. Looks like it works with the axle flipped. Some guys over here are doing the same thing with the Toyota axle's. They flip the housing but leave the diff right side up. Seems to work just fine. I don't like the idea of running the arms upside down but it doesn't seem to be a problem with these Tritons.
