Yeah they are cheaper. When I bought mine the difference was about 8 grand.... Don't worry about what the ads say.

Ok so trip postponed for 3 weeks.... Aparently the rivers are passable at 1 meter but not at 6 meters....

Can't even get to the tip at the moment everything is pretty much impassable afaik.

Either way, will still be wet and should be fun when I get there!

Did a quick solo trip to toolangi today. Mainly to test the vehicle fully loaded and test the winch before I head off to cape next week. For those that know toolangi, it started at rocky track, headed up around to marginal road to Melba hwy so I could do the first track on the right (forgot the name) then went down marginal road down to the steps and out via the glen burn servo.

Car did well, I wanted to test the winch but didn't get stuck on rocky (even though it had been raining), so on the track off marginal, I took all 3 different lines until I got stuck. Lol. I'd been up there in the patrol on 35s and my diffs would scrape. So it was a bit of fun, only ended up having to winch 2 meters and drove the rest and it was only the rear diff holding me up as the front still had heaps off diff clearance

Nice work Timmy, thanks for flattening out those ruts with your diff for us
Rig is looking sweet, the ARB bullbar looks much better than the factory 'Dame Edna' one they are giving em away with at the mo!
Look forward to following your cape trip.

Cape conquered!

Here are a few teaser pics. I will do my own report and full photos later after the 4wd action article comes out around July.

But the Mazda loves it. Only problem I had was on the was with the suspension on the way to cairns. But I will reserve my comments on that until it is resolved. But a massive shout out to TJM cairns for helping me out at the very last minute and supplying me with new front struts to get me through the trip. If you ever up that way go see those boys they are awesome.

We had water over the bonnet many times and up and over the windscreen and few times. We had a few 2-3 hour recoveries, lots of water and mud holes. And heaps of fun! Will definitely be going again.

Few quick pics In no order. Most of the photos and video is on the gopro so will put it up later.

Tim

I gotta stop watching videos and reading about people's trips, I end up miserable because I won't get to any of these places for a long long long time.

Ok so the articles will be in issue 220 & 221. Apparently there is going to be some interactive stuff as well (scan the code and view videos or on the new digital magazine) so that should be good to.

Nice video Tim. 8-). Looks like the BT handled almost as good as the Triton.

Nice feature of the Bt50 in the new Pat Callinan mag there Tim ;) Good work 8-)
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything important, it's too late to stop reading it.
